    The deal will make the 6-time Pro-Bowl TE the highest paid TE in the league.

    The deal is $7.235 million per year and $20.4 million in guaranteed money.

    Gates entered the league as an undrafted basketball player out of Kent State, he recorded career high 1,157 yards last season and as scored 59 TD's in his career.

    Gates was on his final year of his contract.

    The Chargers will now focus on WR Vincent Jackson and LT Marcus McNeill.

    If more of these outragously guarantee ridden contracts keep comming up, we may have to just bite our lip and give one to Woodley.
