    Starks re-signs!

Just saw it on his Twitter account. That will provide a good bit of depth.

Good signing just for the depth, knowing our usual line woes it will be nice to see a familiar face.

This is awesome news!!! Starks can show Adams what it takes to be an NFL tackle. I'd love to see an Adams vs Starks camp battle!!! It's on!!!

Nice. The line has depth. Adams could either start or be the primary backup at either OT position this year and definitely be the starter in 2013.

Hopefully, this means the end of the Jon Scott era.

Maybe Starks can last this whole season if he is a sub. The expiration date of his milk is almost due.

The question is, How much do we save on the cap situation by cutting J. Scott now?

Whoo for more Mad Max! If there is anyone I want Adams to learn from, it's Max Protect. Good Depth that can step in should anything happen to Adams.

Jon The Matador should never see the field in B&G ever again.

Meh, I'm happy for Max but he was average at best last year. And now coming off the torn ACL, who knows how he'll look laterally.

Still have many question marks about the strength of LT this year.

Cut Jon and sign Wallace and sign DeCastro and let's get down to business.

I hope Max's knee is ready and he will be good to go by the start of the season. IMO, he is the #1 LT heading into training camp. While Max is not the best LT in the league, he is in that 12-20 range of tackles and, with what we have on roster, is easily the lead dog in that chase.

I feel a lot better about our OL situation now.

I agree. Max is no Pro Bowler. But Adams/Starks > Traffic Cone (J.Scott)/Nobody at LT.

I still would have rather had Gilbert at left and Adams at right.

This is a tremendous insurance policy to get through the 2012 season. Max was at least average last year. He may have struggled in a game or two, but who doesn't? These guys put their bodies through tremendous stress during a season, there's going to be a game or two that they are below par either due to an individual match up or niggling injury that inhibit's their ability.

If Max is close to the player he was in 2011 I'll be more than satisfied and so too will Ben and Haley be.

My prediction. Starks will open the season at left tackle, but Adams will displace him by mid October as the starter.

If the season were starting today I would definitely agree.

Adams IS a question mark right now.

Fortunately they have training camp and the preseason to take a good look at Adams vis a vis Starks (& Gilbert) and make the decision based on their relative performance.

This is actually good news for Adams. As long as Max's is healed and can play, it probably ends the idea of Gilbert going to LT. The coaches can feel safe that if Adams struggles they have some tried and true for the position. Also, don't discount the idea that if Willie can come back strong at LG that will help whomever is starting at LT.

Ridiculous, glad you don't call the shot's. Once Adams finds his stride he'll be the Steelers starting left tackle for the next 6-12 years. And if thing's go to plan Gilbert will be the starting right tackle for a similar period.

That is how I view it as well...and cheap insurance at that.

Not so sure about this one...I will predict he doesn't start the season.

Just watching him come out of college, Adams has a lot of work to do with his technique. And even if he gets it cleaned up, I don't think he moves well enough laterally to stick at LT.

Funny enough the Steelers have seen 1000x more tape of Adams than you. And they see him mas a natural left tackle. With all due respect to your opinion, I'll stand by their assessment until proven wrong.

    Re: Starks re-signs!

Wow, that's great news, and sounds like he had an almost miraculous recovery from his injury. I hadn't been following his situation very closely, but I had pretty much written off the idea that he would be able to play this year at all. Or if he did, that it would maybe be for the second half of the season at best. Torn ACL at that time of the season usually means you miss most or all of the next one.

So I assume you've never been criticall of the team before? Never disagreed with them?
