Worst kicks in NFL history(Mike Vanderjagt's miss vs PIT,number one)

Tough break for England in the quarters of the 2012 European Cup, as the English side had numerous chances to put the game away against Italy, but it couldn't make it happen as it lost in penalty kicks.

Kickers, what can you do? The same thing happens in football, too. You play an excruciating game and it comes down to a few kicks. In honor of our English brethren here are the six biggest kicking blunders in NFL history.

Did this guy even watch the game? Italy dominated the possession and the attempts at goal. England should have been blown off the field. They just sat back and waited for the one opening. None came, so they lost in shoot outs. Final stats, Italy had 64% possession, England 36%. Italy had 36 attempts, England 9.

Of course I understand why Scott Norwoods can be first, but it was not an easy field goal

The one of Vanderchoke was not easy too, but the way he has missed this kick was so awful

^^^ This. Vanderchoke's kick was bad but Norwood goes down in infamy.

That was not a chip shot. No one with half a brain blames him for that loss either.
    Vandershank? Not so much.

Yep, I still remember Tony Franklin booting FGs barefoot in freezing temperatures...

Same situation with Vanderjact. 46 yarder isn't a chip shot and he certainly wasn't the only reason for the loss. The Steelers jumping out on top early and putting the Colts behind the eight ball. Heck, he never even gets a chance to make that kick if Bettis doesn't fumble.

The only difference is that Vanderjact missed it worse. But hey, a miss is miss. And when you're talking about a guy that misses a would-be Super Bowl winning kick, he's going to get the upper hand (or lower hand, depending on how you look at it).

Random kicker fact. Most people will claim that the Pirates (Steelers) had the first ever true kicking specialist in Mose Kelsch from 1933-1934.

Norwood was kicking on grass from and he didn't miss it by much. Vanderchoke missed his by about 20 ft and was kicking indoors. The distances of the kick were nearly the same so it has to be Vanderjagt. Remember this is the worst misses, not the most crucial misses

The article seems like it's taking into account circumstances (Gary Anderson's miss in the'98 NFC Championship Game).

IMO, what makes Vandershanks better is that cocky point towards the Steeler bench when Cowher tried to ice him.
