The New Jersey state police reportedly have suspended two troopers and reassigned a station commander as part of the investigation into a high-speed sports car trip involving San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs.

It has been dubbed “Death Race 2012”: The two state police troopers led a group of dozens of exotic sports cars on a trip to Atlantic City down the Garden State Parkway at speeds exceeding 100 mph, the Star-Ledger of Newark reported.

Citing complaints filed with the state, the newspaper says that the high-speed convoy was spotted tearing down the southbound lanes of the toll road on March 30.

Witnesses told the newspaper that the police cars were driving at the front and rear of the 25-to-30-car caravan with their emergency lights flashing. The collection of Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and other sports cars all reportedly had their license plates covered with black tape, a $100 fine in New Jersey.

According to the Star-Ledger, many drivers struggled to get out of the way of the oncoming cars, with one elderly driver nearly ending up in a ditch.

I mean to be sarcastically fair, thats all State Troppers in NJ do, just turn on their lights and drive up and down the Turnpike and Parkway at ridiculous amounts of speed. Not surprised at all. Bunch of Morons.

I had a friend who was a police office and he thought he could do anything. He would drive on the wrong side of the road and never get pulled over. This is in his own car.

One time we were pulling out of a parking lot and he cut in front of a car, turns out it was a police officer who immediately pulled him over. My friend showed his license in his wallet, conveniently next to his badge.

The office obviously wanted to give him a ticket, you could see it in his eyes but he let him go.

Many officers think they are above the law. They shouldn't be suspended, they should be fired.

The test results they look for in police psych tests are not much different than what you find in criminals.

I realize cops have a super-rough job, but I also think they use that as an excuse to go too far in many ways when they are off-duty. Every single woman I know who has dated/married a cop has discovered him cheating. And I'm not talking about one or two people here, I'm talking about probably 20 women...one woman I know caught her husband cheating, then was even more devastated when he confessed that he had cheated on her with 5 separate women, and had done so starting even before they were married.

I'm not saying all cops are like this, but it has to be a pretty high percentage...nobody is above the law.

As a former employee of the Police dept in Passaic, this happens way too often, Ive seen guys kick their wives to the curb along with their children just to bang the girl at the coffee shop.
