I don't think the Cardinals have swept anyone this season, or just 1 if we have. Hopefully we hit better against Burnett than last time. Geeez.

I think it's funny that Burnett comes out with the "Preparation for Domination" t-shirts for himself, J-Mac and Morton...then both he and Morton get shelled. Time to put the shirts away, guys, because you ain't dominated SHIT.

A.J. Burnett became the first pitcher since 1918 to allow 12 or more earned runs without completing three innings of work

Good win today. Luckily with the next few series (Reds, Nationals, and Astros), we have a good chance of having a winning record.

Figured the Cards would take 2 out of 3 from us and another good outing from Macdonald today and a split now with Cincy, let's get the W tomorrow and take the series.

Well, they lost the series, but I'm hoping they can win the next one against the Nationals.

Ups and downs right now. Not looking like an over .500 team. Just too much inconsistency which has been a common theme over the years.

Yeah, inconsistency has been a problem for a long time. When this team is consistent in hitting, defense, and pitching, they're a really good team that could possibly take on anyone. For example, we took two out of three against Boston last year and two out of three against the Phillies and Diamondbacks to open up the season. Two great teams and one really good team. Also, the Pirates were on fire last night against the Reds. James McDonald pitched extremely well with seven strikeouts, the defense was great with Barmes making some awesome plays, and the hitting was pretty good with two homers. Then, you have today where Charlie Morton couldn't do anything and even Hurdle called him out for being inconsistent. There was no offense either. Its frustrating to say the least.

Just strange how some games we post up 10 runs like it's nothing, but like today can't score a single run. Same with the pitching. Some nights they shut out their opponents and the next day they give up 13 runs.

Yeah, that's one thing I've noticed. I'd say the two best pitchers as of right now are Bedard and McDonald. They are pitching lights out right now. I'd say our biggest concern, other than the inconsistency, is hitting. I will say, I'm quite impressed with Pedro so far. He leads the team with seven homers, fifteen RBIs, but also leads with twenty six strikeouts.

Pedro has been most impressive, but will he keep this up after the All-Star Break well see about that. Cutch has been sick, but him and Neil have done their job, but Barmes has been a bust and hitting under .200 is sad.

I'd say his defense has been better than Cedros, but his hitting is horrid. Boy I can't wait till they bring up Josh Bell. I really hope hes a beast when he makes it to the pro level. I'll actually be able to see him if hes still in single A in June.

Burnett pitching great tonight, but still a 2-1 Nats lead off the Harper sensation at 19 years old. Cutch gets his first HR of the season.

Jones hits a HR in the 4th as well and just like that it's a 2-2 game, come on offense keep this up!

FUCK. Buccos luck kicked in. The Hammer blows a save and lets Laroche get under the ball and like that it's a 4-3 Nats lead. Gotta score more than 3 runs a game to get the W's.

Tell me about it. I never get to see Buccos games as I work during the evening and night during the week. So great to see a game and a W.

If only the Pirates had just an average offense...with that pitching staff, they'd be in first place.

Good job by A.J. to bounce back after that debacle in St. Louis. Too bad Hanrahan decided to suck and cost him a W.

Ah, everyone pitcher has their bad games and Joel had one last night. I'm sure he'll bounce back and I also agree about the offense.

Who is this Strasburg kid? He's pretty good.

Pirates actually got 2 runs off him, but once again, Correia shows why he should be nowhere near the top of the rotation. I really can't wait until Cole and/or Taillon are ready, so we can send this turd packing.
