Beltran is no Pujols, that's for damn sure. That would be like the Penguins without Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin. Yeah, they'd be just fine with either of them, but they are so much better with both of them.

Another game where the Pirates let the team score in the first inning. This has to come to an end.

So this is the fifth out of seven games where they've trailed coming out of the first inning. This is completely unnecessary.

The more I watch Pedro, the more convinced he's a bust.

Yeah we would obviously be better with him, not saying that at all. Just saying that the group of good hitters on the roster kind of buffers him leaving a bit. In other words it would be a whole lot worse if we didnt have those good hitters in place like Freese, Holliday, Molina, Berkman, and Beltran. Its bad but it could be worse.

Havent been able to see a game yet though...

I hope the Pirates can compete for 2nd this year! Just not 1st hopefully.

Good win today by the Pirates. A much needed one at that. Last night was a little tough, but a good game. Today's game was good in that they outplayed the Giants. A little shaky at the end with Joel, but pretty good around.

Great win for the Bucs last night. Seems the offense is coming from where it is expected with Cutch, Neil, and G.I. Jone. Alvarez almost popped a HR, but was robbed I'll admit it. McGee has come up big as well. Let's clean up the control with the pitching and get back to .500. GO BUCS!

Awesome series win boys. Up to 5-7 and building confidence heading back to PNC. Gotta ramp up that offense!

5-7 isn't too bad considering the level of competition we've been playing. We just need to keep swigning those bats. Tough series coming up. If we emerge with a win or more I'm feeling okay.

Burnetts first game tonight. He went over 7 innings and posted a 3 hit shutout, I'm impressed and hope he keeps this up for the rotation. Buccos win 2-0. Still worried about the slumping offense, but think they can improve! GO BUCS!

Don't worry, steelpride12, he will disappoint soon. He looks completely unhittable in 1 outing and then he pitches so flat that his fastball is easy to hit out. We had great hopes for him in Toronto and I see he did not change much in New York. Hope he wins 20, but his history is pretty consistent.

Just saw the score. Extremely surprised by Burnett. He played against a guy that I knew growing up in the minors a week ago and got pulled in the 2nd inning...

3-2 Buccos in the 7th. Man McCutchen has been well clutch when it gets to the 7th inning and on, the stats were off the chart. Looking to put some insurance runs on now and seal this game, Go Bucs!

And Watson blows this one in the 8th. Gonzales gets his 2nd HR of the night and it's now a 4-3 Rockies lead. Man I thought we solved our pitching woes.

Spoke too soon, I forgot we had Clint Barmes who slames a HR home and the Bucs in the 8th tie the game at 4.

The best pick up of the off season Mcgee comes up huge with a base hit and now gives the Bucs a 5-4 lead!

2 out of 3 is good news for the Bucs. Even in the game they lost Mcdonald had a shutout threw 7 until the bullpen blew it.

They're going down to Atlanta now for a four game series. I'm hoping they win at least two of these games.

Nice game tonight! Alvarez with another HR, finally seems to be "getting it" at the plate.
Now we head to STL, hopefully it goes better then last time we played them.

Morton on the plate tonight. Someone who always has an ERA under 3.00, but cannot string the wins together. Tonight would be a great night to change that, GO BUCS!

2-run homer for Tabata in the 3rd and it's a 2-1 Bucs lead. If these bats can wake up and stay consistant with the combination of the great pitching we can get over the .500 mark.

As Have I. I really like the pitching so far and additions of Mcgee and Barmes I think the bats will eventually wake up like they did in Atlanta.

Clint Barmes has just been a disappointment so far. Yes it's early, but his average is under .200 and now examples of poor fielding. Come on.

I have as well. Pitching has been incredible for our standards except for a few games. Batting however has to become more consistent and Pedro is starting to wake up. Even though they're losing right now, I can still see one win coming out of this series.
