You came to the Steelers in 1998
Little did we know you’d become an all time great

You hold many records and won lots of awards
You put a lot of points up on scoreboards

Some called you dirty but you just played with passion
Heart and soul in typical Steelers fashion

A great blocking receiver - you even inspired a rule
Defenders watched out for you or you took them to school

You played like a winner - whether losing or winning
You took a big hit and got up grinning

1000 receptions made over your career
And even some passes that made us cheer

You made some impossible catches along the way
Not to mention your Superbowl XL MVP day

Over 14 years there have been tears - both happy and sad
You’re retiring a Steeler - for that we are glad

Now that you are leaving the game
There’s no doubt you’re headed to the Hall Of Fame

We love you Hines - we will forget you never
You’re a Steeler for life - 86 forever
