He won't get that next year either. He's not in Fitz's class.

If this is true - and considering the source, it's a sure bet that it isn't - then see ya, Mike. No team is going to pay him Larry Fitz money because he isn't in Larry Fitz' neighborhood. Not even close.
That said, I'd like to officially petition to ban anything from Hensley from this site. Friggin' hack Ratturd fan.
The 49ers inquired about Mike Wallace but ...

Just a thought...probably a stupid thought...but if true, is this a ploy by the Wallace camp to keep other teams at bay?

If that's true I hope they they make him play on the tender this year, franchise him next and then trade him. Simply won't get anywhere near that here
nor does he deserve it

Yeah, he's gone next year. And Jamison Jackhole is still a douche.

Gee. I thought no one was interested in signing restricted free agents?![]()
Sarcasm aside. The bright side of this is that Wallace is going to have to have a helluva year to justify that sort of future payday.
The down side. Hard to see much chance of Wallace being a Steeler past 2012. The Steelers wont franchise him. The money number will be too high for receivers to consider that move.

Until it is said by Wallace, his agent, or the Steelers...then I'm a little skeptical.
That being said, other than Ben, there isn't a single player on the Steelers roster that I would pay that kind of money too.

The tag will never be at 18 million!...The TAG for WR was 9.4 for WR this year!
Array title="zulater has a reputation beyond repute">
A lot of receivers have signed for a lot of money since then. And there's still a few to go ( Wes Welker) By the time next season's franchise numbers come out receiver will be 10 million +. Do you really want to pay Wallace more than Ben? With Antonio Brown right on his heels it's hard for me to imagine Wallace being around past next season.

Colbert...no matter how desparate it looks...Just don't trade him for a 5th round draft choice....
The rise of TAG is no longer the average of the five most highest paid WR in the NFL.
In 2011...the 10 most highest paid WR in the NFL

Franchise tag drop helps teams
Values for NFL franchises couldn't be higher.
The new collective bargaining agreement gave the NFL 10 years of labor peace. The league cut a deal that provided teams a better percentage of revenues. Network television extensions add billions to the fortunes of the league.
How did the value of franchise players drop?
Franchise wide receivers dropped from $11.3 million to $9.4 million. Quarterbacks went from $16 million to $14.4 million. Running backs fell from $9.5 million to $7.7 million. Cornerbacks fell from $14 million to $10.4 million. As a result, 21 players were franchised and the lower franchise numbers have given teams more leverage in negotiations with key unsigned veterans.
In the final stages of putting the collective bargaining agreement together, league negotiators slipped in a slight adjustment in the calculation of the franchise number. The league turned the franchise number into the average of a five-year period instead of the previous year. That change has had major consequences.

He'd be worth it IF:
A) He has 120 catches and...
B) 2000 yards and...
C) 20 TD's
Fire Goodell

This is an obvious "red herring" tactic so that he can stay in Pittsburgh. Very smart move.

I really don't think Mike is that crazy where he thinks his play warrants that type of money..

I think hes just trying to keep teams away from making a deal on him. AND Jamison Hensley can go fuck himself.

If true, he's not worth it. However I won't believe it until it's said by Wallace, his agent, or the Steelers. And Hensley can go fuck himself, he's a douchenozzle Baltimore bastard.
