That Greco re signing was a good one by the browns. Greco is a very nifty guard who moves around well. Very important for their offense.

Wayne not going to wait for Manning

This is big because the two have been considered a packaged deal for a while now, but now it looks like Reggie Wayne is going to go where he feels he is the best fit, and if that place ends up being Manning's destination too, that's great but not a requirement.

This was a given. The head coach in Miami is his former offensive coordinator, so they know each other. Stephen Ross wants to make a splash to create interest in the team, but just traded their greatest asset in getting either Manning or Flynn, Brandon Marshall. Now who the hell will either QB throw to?

The Browns couldn't get the #2 overall pick to take RGIII, so if they intend to upgrade the QB position they need to sign Flynn. I don't think any of the other QB's available in the draft are upgrades over Colt McCoy or Seneca Wallace. And while there isn't much to throw to in Cleveland, the Browns could draft a WR with the #22 overall pick to give him a weapon in the passing game.

This sounds like a desperation shot to win a superbowl with the signings of these wide receivers. I have to say it is not going to work putting all of your eggs in one basket never does.

They are going to be taking either RGIII or Andrew Luck with the second overall pick and are then without a second round pick this year and first round picks in 2013 and 2014...if they want the QB they select to have any talent around him at receiver they didn't have much choice but to sign a few receivers in free agency.

I agree but what I am trying to say you can't neglect the rest of the team. It seems to me that they are putting everything in the offense and nothing for the D I guess time will tell.

Their defense actually isn't bad. They resigned Adam Carriker, their defensive end. Their biggest UFA they need to resign is ILB London Fletcher who has been leading the Redskins in tackles for years. LaRon Landry is going to be allowed to walk because he can't stay healthy through an entire season. Their outside linebackers are Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan. I wouldn't be surprised if they Atogwe to play safety or upgraded at safety. So the defense really doesn't need much, and they can get depth with their other draft picks this year.

But first and foremost they need to fix the offense, that was their biggest problem and when you spend a draft pick that high on a QB you need to get him weapons.

I see what you are saying but I just have a different opinion with the direction they are going. yes these signings may get them a superbowl but I don't think so. Look what happend to Dallas when they tryed to buy one and I have to say this is a different tale. I just have my doughts this is going to work, but hey I have a opinion and so do you. This is what makes this time of year fun when you can debate back and fourth.

Oh I don't think Dan Snyder will ever win a Super Bowl.

I just understand why they are signing who they are signing. And with the NFL making rules that help the offense more and more, I don't blame them so much for trying to make sure that they have firepower on the offensive side of the ball, especially when their defense already is pretty good.

They had the league leader in tackles in London Fletcher with 166 total tackles, and they are expected to resign him in free agency. Their sack leader was Brian Orakpo with 9 sacks, tying for 21st in the league and will probably have more sacks this season.

In total defense they ranked 13th, 12th in pass defense, 18th in rush defense, and ranked 14th in touchdowns given up. Can they imrpove? Yes.

But they don't need to improve that side of the ball so much to have success in this era of NFL football, at least not when your offense was this bad last season:

    Total offense - 16th
    Passing offense - 14th
    Rushing offense - 25th
    Scoring offense - 26th
    Touchdowns - 27th

Their two quarterbacks threw a total of 19 touchdowns passes to 24 interceptions and a completion percentage of 58.5%.

The Patriots got to the Super Bowl with one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Giants were the 27th ranked offense going into the playoffs, and they won the Super Bowl.

The old saying of "defense wins championships" is slowly eroding away with the way the NFL keeps promoting offense and handicapping the defenses.
