Chargers sign former Ravens LB Jarrett Johnson
Cowboys sign CB Brandon Carr (5 yr/$50.1M)
Giants sign former Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett
Don't like this very much. Unless they plan on moving Johnson inside, I don't think the Chargers get a lot of value out of this contract. He'll get buried on the depth chart at outside linebacker behind superior pass rushers.
Carr will be a great fit but it's tough to pay 10 mil a season to any player (if the integrity of the contract is accurate).
This one is interesting. On the one hand, if I'm signing a player with Bennett's ability - I'd much prefer it to be on a longer deal. However, they signed a talented player to fill in for the injured Jake Ballard so I guess it's a win. And with Bennett's off the field issues perhaps a one year deal is the way to go.

Chargers sign former Chiefs FB LeRon McClain
Bears re-sign TE Kellen Davis to a 2-year deal
Jags sign former Dolphins QB Chad Henne
Davis would have been great here. I was sorry to see this. But he got a much better deal in Chicago than the Steelers could have offered him.

Kellen Davis will not be a Pittsburgh Steeler.
Though disappointing, the result was expected.
The Bears extended Davis a two year offer he couldn’t refuse; knowing that he had a starting job in Chicago.

CB Richard Marshall signs 3 year/$16M deal with the Dolphins
Shurmer's offense is too pass oriented to take a RB that high, even though Richardson is going to be an absolute stud. Even when they had a healthy Hillis this season, they didn't give him the ball nearly enough. And that was with Colt McCoy as the starting QB. Imagine if they end up signing Matt Flynn for the big money he's going to end up getting paid or taking Ryan Tannehill in the first round (therefore, thrusting him into the starters position), they are going to throw the ball even more then.
