and Somewhere AJ Smith is wondering why he didnt negotiate with San Diego......
This has got to be the last season of the AJ Smith/Norc Turner regime. Turner hasn't had any success as a HC in his entire football career and nobody wants to deal with Smith because he's a complete pompous ass.

I'm not really sure why Tampa would spend so much money on a WR. They've already got two good young WRs in Williams and Benn and they need help in a lot of other places. They do have a lot of cap room though.
Well, there you have it: Someone else's bonehead move establishes the floor for what Wallace's agent will demand we pay him.
I'm not saying it was boneheaded from a personnel standpoint, by the way - it was a nice pickup for TB. But boy, did they ever overpay.
See you Space Cowboy ...
I'm not a big fan of Jackson. But he is an improvement over Benn for sure. It's a good signing if they can make him play through the whistle and get his head out of his ass off the field. That's a big if.
That sure is a lot of money. I don't think Vincent Jackson is worth that much.
Only the first two years of Jackson's contract is guaranteed. There's no signing bonus either.
So the team can cut Jackson anytime after the first two years (aren't going to cut him anyway) without any dead money.
