WOW what a shocker! I don't think this is the smartest move by the Colts but we will have to see.
I wish Arians good luck. He is gonna need it.

I think he'll do great if Manning comes back. Even if he has a servicable QB he won't do too bad because he doesn't need to worry about building up an Offensive Line. So since he has a ready made O-line he can focus on offensive weapons. Which will free up all of the long developing plays that the Steelers Oline just could not handle.
Congrats Bruce. Go get 'em.
I think this hiring has more to do with Luck that Manning. I know we all are wishing the best for BA.

I merged the two threads into the already existing thread in the Around the NFL Forum.
CANCER - YOU PICKED THE WRONG BITCH!!!
Well, except that he does about 50% of the time.
Regardless, there are only a handful of teams in the NFL that have "power running games", and the majority of those teams just ain't very good.
IF this is true, it'll be a nice fit for Arians. Luck is very bright and this will open up an even bigger playbook for Arians.
Fire Goodell
Why would anyone hire the worst OC in NFL history?
As I said in another topic, Peyton Manning has probably played his last game with the Colts.
Manning will be cut by the Colts before March 8.
......
The likelihood of Manning playing in Indy in 2012 seems slim, at best. According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, it's an absolute zero proposition, as the decision to cut bait on Manning next year was made "weeks ago."

I wish him all the Luck in the world (pun intended), unless he is coaching against the Steelers.

The Colts are trying to be more like the Steelers, with this hiring and now their attempt to hire Kieth Butler
Ravens - yes
Broncos - yes, out of necessity. They still suck even if they did beat the Steelers. That guy at QB (I refuse to say his name) is going to be exposed big time next season.
Texans - yes and no. They're a team that can pass and run very well, something I want the Steelers' offense to become
49ers - yes
4 of those losses were on the road, and they weren't very good on the road against anyone this season. They also played 4 of those games short-handed on defense (no Harrison in Houston or SF, no Clark in Denver, no Woodley at home vs. Baltimore) and 2 with a gimpy Ben. A healthy team wins at least 3 of those games. I'm sure of it.
Sure...like 3 of the final 4 teams left standing in the playoffs...you know...the Giants, 49ers and Ravens...sure thing...
oh and the Patriots use a power passing game with 2 TE's and slot guys underneath all day long and rarely go deep...but go on...keep telling us how its only a Passing League and that firing Arians was a mistake by our Front Office...this is actually getting laughable.
SuperBowl Wins - How many does YOUR team have? Steelers 6, 49ers 5, Cowboys 5, Packers 4, Giants 4, Pats 4, Redskins 3, Raiders 3, Broncos 2, Dolphins 2, Colts 2, Ravens 2, Bears 1, Jets 1, Bucs 1, Rams 1, Chiefs 1, Saints 1, Hawks 1
Since 2008,3 teams participate in the super bowl with the 32nd running game(2008 ARZ,2009 IND,2011 NYG)

The Giants running game scares no team.
He only game against the Falcons than the Giants running game was good.
The Giants are one of the best teams to make big play by pass with Cruz and Nicks....Eli Manning also had 4900 yards this year!
The Giants' running game is not a factor.
Play-action only works if your running game is strong. Nobody respects the Giants' running game. At all. Eli was the reason why the Giants won the division and is a big reason why they are now in the Super Bowl.
As for your point about the Patriots*, whatever you want to call the offense they run, they are still a pass-first team. Brady threw for over 5,000 yards, for crying out loud.
I'll give you the 49ers and Ravens, but notice that neither team is playing in the Super Bowl, while 2 pass-first teams are.
Brady:5200 yards
Eli:4900 yards
And Aaron Rogers and Drew Breese couldn't make it out of the Second round.

The defense of the Saints has choke in the end game.
The Packers had no defense and WR drop many ball.

The NFL is now a passing league.
All the teams they participate in the Super Bowl since 2008 have an elite QB.
