Why New York Giants Clearly Won Eli Manning Trade, 2004 NFL Draft After All

It sparked serious debate in 2004 and is still an argument carried on by NFL fans today.

Did the New York Giants make the right decision moving up to trade with the San Diego Chargers for the rights to Eli Manning?

Would Philip Rivers have been the better option? What about Ben Roethlisberger?

Let's revisit this famous draft-day deal with Eli on the cusp of another Super Bowl appearance.

I voted for Rivers because he is the obvious loser, so I had to skew the numbers.

The Chargers probably left 2 Super Bowls on the table between bad coaches and the Patriots cheating.

As good as Eli can be I still and always will hold a grudge against him for not only going public about not wanting San Diego to draft him and then even got archie involved. The thing that makes the NFL so fun to watch is that a team gets better through the draft and sometimes good or even great players go to crappy teams.

I held the same grudge against elway for the same reason. Drafted by colts and then throws a hissy and refuses to play for them. Suck it Eli and Elway!!!

Glad we got the better of both by getting Ben!!!
