A requiem for the 2011/2012 Pittsburgh Steelers

A requiem for the 2011/2012 Pittsburgh SteelersToday, we say goodbye to the 2011/2012 Pittsburgh Steelers, the NFL team that was perhaps most mystified and frustrated by the Tim Tebow experience.

It doesn't really feel like there's a lot to say about the Steelers. They were one of the league's best teams, again, as they always are, and that will probably be the case next year, too. They were just done in by their own hobbled quarterback, and an opposing quarterback who just happens to play better with nail-sized holes in his hands and feet.

2011 was just like 2007. A good Steeler team that was steadily worn down by injuries and faded down the stretch into the postseason where they were ousted in close losses. We won games in December, but by Week 17, the Steelers were running on sheer grit and fumes.

It's important to remain healthy going into the Postseason. We had good luck in 2008 and 2010, not so much this year. The injury bug bit the Steelers and they were steadily worn down. Beat up way too much.

    Needs: back up qb
... new ace of a kicker who can nail it from 45+ deep

Still, with all that incredible talent they managed to play an entire season completely uninspired imo.

    SOMETHING else was missing too.
