IMO, this really only hurts in terms of depth.

I sincerely hope the Coach gives Spann a chance....he is a Northern Illinois prosepect that I got to see pretty regularly.
He led the nation for TD's in 2010, was the Mac offensive player of the year, and won the Vern Smith Leadership award which is the "MVP" award for the Mac conference. I know he is only 5'9 200 lbs...but he is one of the better yards after contact backs that I have seen at the college level.
He was a combine snub (due to his size) but ran a 4.47 at his proday. Add that to his strong lower body...his willingness to lower his pads and take a hit for the extra yard or two...and I say he deserves a chance. After watching the video...I think you have some idea about this kids potential.
I would rather give Spann a chance then to pick up someone off the street who doesnt know our system.

I agree LLT...he's inhouse and looks really good.....and you know he would give it his all. Thanks for the video.
I think he has been the victim of circumstance...shoulder injury at Indianapolis...then crowded backfield at Tampa and Pittsburgh. I'm very interested in seeing how he does when given a chance in a game situation. He has pretty good hands and the ability to run outside and between the tackles... so he might be a legit 3rd down back if given enough reps.

I have no problem with Redman and Clay, but both are off tackle runners and not guys that will get to the edges. Gonna be power running football and passing game, which I think matches up with Denver well.

I mean it does feel good to have Redman, but as an every down back with a back up who has potential sure, but has not shown us enough to jump the bandwagon just yet ehh. Redman did show us a couple fumbles as well because of his nack to get the yards after the first hit (not a bad thing), but he has to protect the ball better.

KNOCKIN ON 7'S DOOR!
Regardless of what we do and who we bring in/up, the burden will fall on the shoulders of the guys who have been here the longest, Redman ane Clay. Anyone else will be a bit piece at best.
Big Red and Clay can take up the slack IMHO.
