I get the "any givin'... er, Saturday sentiment, and I'm sure Temple appreciates the "props", but this IS a game we should win. Even if they are one of the better teams in the MAC... this is not a basketball game.
If we can't beat these guys, our season's in trouble.
I will second you on this one. Yeah this is a game they should win, but again, I am not getting ahead of myself.

You've always been very even tempered, SCM. That I do appreciate.
and yes, Temple has a solid football team. They are not the same team we have beaten 27 times in a row. There's even a nice representation of PSU guys over there. They have definitely come into their own as a program, but they are still Temple to us.
My point was that this, as we are all well aware of, is going to be a tough year. We're going to have some growing pains. We have a lot of talented, younger players... like Bolden for one, but we need to see improvement from every facet of our team. Our running game isn't anywhere near what it should be. Even though Royster is starting to come around, our O-line is struggling. Our TE's need some more development. Our defense hasn't played as stout as it has in the past, etc.
They need to build confidence every week. Games like this need to help the team because it's not going to get any easier down the road, and confidence can be a very fragile thing.
Thanks, I don't know if it has to do with my inner ex-athlete learning how to respect my opponents, or what, but hey, I guess there is nothing wrong with that.
But yeah you are right, this is a game that can build a lot of confidence for this team for the remainder of the year. I didn't expect this team go unbeaten and win the National Championship, but I said something along the lines of 8-4 or 9-3 which still for a reloading team is very respectable. Bolden has been great so far and has a huge upside. I look forward to seeing how this team grows.

Ready for the game - go PSU!!!!
Angel Baby Faith our one and only 1/11/00 - 9/9/16 We love you.
22-13 PSU! What a game.

They're going to have to figure out how to get into the endzone, a lot more then they did today if they're going to win against Iowa. You can NOT afford to give Kirk Ferentz any sort of confidence.

All those field goals were eerily similar to another team... before Sunday. They certainly made it interesting, but as the game wore on, you could really see that our guys had more left in the tank and they finished it off on a high note. That TD meant more to the team than the 7 points it was credited with. Hopefully, that will carry over.
Royster was very good, but unfortunately we lost Lou Eliades,#77 for the remainder of the season.

PSU duo make most of healthy season
By Matt Fortuna, FOR THE PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Tuesday, September 28, 2010
Read MoreThere was defensive end Pete Massaro, the ball in his right hand, roaring next to linebacker Michael Mauti, defiantly crossing his arms and, in effect, crossing off Temple on the Nittany Lions' road to the Big Ten season.
It was a moment the two can appreciate more this year, each having missed the entire 2009 campaign with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.
"We kind of give each other that look, like, you know what I mean?" Mauti said. "We went through hell coming back from that rehab, so it makes me really happy seeing him out there making plays. So we're always next to each other, pumping each other up."
That effect has been contagious, evidenced by the mob of teammates storming the pair following Saturday's final play, when Massaro rocked Temple quarterback Chester Stewart and dived on the loose football near the Penn State sideline, with Mauti right there behind him.
I feel bad for Lou to have his season ended like that, it would be nice to get a medical redshirt for him.
Well, last week the numbers were in our favor. This week... no so much.
Penn State has had a difficult time with Iowa in the past decade. The Nittany Lions are just 1-7 against the Hawkeyes since the 2000 season, and 0-3 on the road.Read MoreIowa coach Kirk Ferentz is 7-2 all-time against Penn State.
Hopefully we can buck the trend and come out with a BIG win on the road. I know I'm not gonna miss it!
Well I ain't missin it. This will be a huge Iowa win.

I alway look forward to this game. Penn. St. is a great team and unusually one of the first Big Ten teams we meet. I use this game to tell me just how good we are, win or loose This is going to be a great game no matter how it turns out.

I shall echo that, just in my case it's as a Penn State Student.
This game will not be easy though. Iowa does present a tough challenge, one I do think Penn State will be up for. Out of the big 3 games, I think this is probably the one the Lions have their best shot at winning.

I am a huge PS fan but everytime we play Iowa I always want to jump up and yell "Go Black and Gold". I have no clue why...
Nothing better then a Black & Gold Wedding 09/24/11
Better down 3 then 7 to start against Iowa.

That was huge to hold them only to 3
WHY RUN IT UP THE MIDDLE? That was just dumb.

The Hawks will finish what they started last drive.
That's always been his problem and is exactly why Stanzi won't be a starter in the NFL.

Make up your mind Bolden!

Stout defense though and a very good running game. Stanzi just can't throw that ball into coverage like that.
I am fuming on the inside if I'm Sukay.
