    Bengals Poem (11/13/11)

Steelers vs. Bengals for our first season meeting
To play a game we were both badly needing
First sellout of the season for Cincinnati fans
Some of those folks had Terrible Towels in their hands
It didn’t start well for the home team at Paul Brown
Before they knew it - it was already 4th down
A few minutes later Cotchery put points on the board
Next thing you knew Mendenhall scored
Soon the Bengals would have a score of their own
When Andy Dalton found Green in the end zone
On our next drive Heath Miller couldn’t hold on to the ball
After a few bobbles it’s picked off by Leon Hall
It would have been better if they hadn’t gotten to score
But they got in field goal range and were now down by four
A few punts for both sides and some sacks on Ben
We kicked a field goal and it was now 17-10
After the half the Bengals would soon make it 17 all
Then we jumped back ahead thanks to Rashard Mendenhall
We didn’t know it then but the score would stay the same
There was some excitement when the 4th quarter came
Andy Dalton - “the Red Rifle” - started to misfire
In a game that almost came down to the wire
Early in the 4th Lawrence Timmons got it started
That was just the beginning of the Bengal brokenhearted
With about 2 ½ minutes left Dalton was intercepted by Gay
And Steeler victory was only a few kneels away
We had Thanksgiving and a week off to rest
Hopefully our guys will be at their best
The bye is over and we’re on our way to Arrowhead
Will the Chiefs be Tyler Palko or Kyle Orton led?
Their stadium will be loud whether they’re winning or losing
We know what we have to do - it’s not confusing
The team and their fans will put up a fight
We need to add to our win column late Sunday night
