Pay Wallace at the end of the season

To be honest, if I was another team's GM I would give up a 1st round pick for Wallace- he is a lock.

And we'd still have the option to match the contract offer. If we do, he stays. If we don't we have two first round picks.

Would I prefer to keep Wallace a Steeler? Oh hell yeah I would, especially with Ward retiring by the end of the 2013 season. But a second first rounder could also be very valuable by either letting is draft a second player of first round quality or trade up if we focus in on one player.

Yes, I do, and that was back when he was still a decent receiver!

Instead a few years later, Mike Brown traded him for a single mid round pick.

And I'd consider that deal, especially with it being two Redskins first rounders, almost guaranteed to be a top 10 pick both years!

Our chance to sign Wallace was last year. Way too many teams have seen what he's got now. Unless there's some major restructuring by other players, I don't think we're going to give Wallace what'll surely be top-contract dollar.

Well, Smith is probably "restructuring" from $6M to $0 next year, so there's our cap room.

Honestly, there's no chance in hell we let go of Wallace at any price. He's too good and only keeps getting better. He's the first receiver we've had in a long time that actually changes the whole game when he's in.
