Why do people think Kyle Orton is such a big deal? He's proved for five or six years that he's just an OK quarterback. The kind of QB where if you have a good team around him already, he'll be just good enough to not lose the game for you. He's not going to help the Dolphins; I don't see him as the answer to anyone's problems beyond being a stopgap guy who eats up minutes when you don't have a long-term answer at QB. He would've been great, for example, on the Vikings last year, probably the Colts this year, maybe the 49ers if Alex Smith hadn't somehow gotten his shit together. But he's not going to carry a team; if your team was just OK before, add Orton and it will still be an OK team. If it was a good team, with Orton it will be an OK team. If it was a bad team, it will still be bad. There's a definite role for him in the league, but it's more like a Jon Kitna or Ty Detmer role, not a sought-after starting QB role.
