Steelers linebacker James Farrior was fined $15,000 by the NFL for a hit Sunday night on Indianapolis quarterback Kerry Collins.

Farrior hit Collins after he released the ball, but he was not penalized during the game. Collins later left the game with concussion symptoms and was replaced by backup Curtis Painter.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown has been fined $7,500 for a low block in the Steelers' 23-20 win against the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday night.

The block occurred late in the second quarter while Colts safety Joe Lefeged was returning a Ben Roethlisberger interception. Brown was penalized on the play, but he said he was simply protecting himself when he took out a Colts defender with the block.

I'd rather have a flag and 15 yards if Ben gets hit illegally. I don't really care about opponent's fines, that doesn't help the Steelers win the game. Penalties do. I'll take the penalties. But I understand what you are saying.

I used to look forward to having a few pints of Guinness and a cheeseburger with rasher bacon down at the pub in Port St. Lucie where they show all the Steeler games. Lots of food is 50% off and the beer/wine is 2-for-1. I would bring my girl and invite my mom down when the game wasn't televised locally. Four of us would eat and drink until we were bloated and watch the game. The bill would be about $80 total.

The rule changes and media whoring (Brady, Patriots, et al) make it hard to keep my burger down now. We have not yet got together for a game this season because it is not as much of a priority as it was in the past. I am spending money on my motorcycle instead of NFL shirts and gameday parties. Dickhead Goodell needs to think about unintended consequences.

Different low blocks. One is legal, the other illegal.

It is clearly stated in the rules you can't go low on a player on a turnover like Brown did.
