Kyle Lauletta from Richmond is a potential sleeper at QB. He's getting some buzz.

I'm really impressed with Mayfield right now. Never been a OK or OKState QB enthusiast, as it seems to be system not substance. New regime in OK now though. Mayfield is playing great.

I'm with you on not trusting certain schools because of the QB system there. OK has a new coaching staff now, Stoops has retired. I cannot help but like Mayfield this season, the guy has a 71% comp rate.

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Head to head Rosen looks better than Darnold IMO. Not sure either is a franchise.
-
Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Josh Allen didn't play against Fresno State, so his back up completed 20/32 passes for 231 yards and a TD....
-
Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Other than stats, I don't know much about Luke Falk. His numbers are impressive.
Baker Mayfield continues to make plays with his feet and his arm. I'm very impressed.
Riley Ferguson has not had a 'bad' game this season.
Josh Rosen can do everything you want from a QB prospect.
Ryan Finley is another I don't know much about outside of his stats. Impresses each week as well.
I'll just make that my top5 for now.

Maybe his backup will show up on Mel's big board!

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Guess i can remove Nick Fitzgerald from this list. Horrific ankle break in last night's Egg Bowl.
http://www.espn.com/college-football...its-leg-injury
Will Grier appears done for the remainder of the season as well. May/May not be back for bowl season.

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
The way Case Keenum is developing, I'd sign him next year if Ben retires over any of these college QBs that will be around at pick 32.

I like the season Keenum is having too. I got a lot of chances to see him when he was at the University of Houston and liked him even then. Would not mind it at all if he were brought in and given a chance to backup Ben for another 2 seasons. If Ben is indeed done at the end of this season, Keenum would be a strong candidate, but I can see both sides of that argument as well.

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Keenum just has the look of a guy who’s had the game slow down for him. He’s very intuitive and feels pressure in the pocket. It’s really fun watching him play when he’s on.

Vikes may decide to keep Keenum and deal Bradford AND Bridgewater for picks and/or future picks. Or any variation of keep QB and deal for the other 2 that works best.

Someone to keep an eye on. Sophomore QB for UCF McKenzie Milton. Mariota-esque.

Well he’s a free agent so aside from the franchise tag he can play wherever he wants.

Do you see him as a franchise tag worthy QB? If not, at what cost does he become not worth it?

No way... that's why he'll be available. If he keeps playing at this level for the rest of the year, I see him at $10-12M a year for 3 years without a lot guaranteed. IMO, if the scenario holds up he'd be worth it.

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Anybody know about Logan Woodside, Toledo Rockets? He's currently at a 65.2% comp rate at 10yards per attempt, with 24TDs and only 3INTs on the season.

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Jarrett Stidham is someone to watch for, not sure he enters the draft but he looked great against Bama. Their run first offense is hiding his talent.
Strong arm, very accurate, moblie, good size, poised.
Was a 5 star recruit to Baylor but transferred to Auburn after the abuse scandal.
Note this was only time I just watch a complete Auburn(Clemson are the real Tigers) Game, so I'll need to see more but he's someone maybe everyone could watch for.

Stidham's a sophomore. That's why he's not on the list.

He is a Red shirt sophomore. Not sure he enters the draft either way.

Right, but I can't list every QB that may enter, so I had to draw a line at only Jrs and Srs. Unless it was a requested player by a contributor. Nick Fitzgerald was already planning to stay at MissState, but got a request, so I added him. Always that chance he may change his mind, right? But now with that ankle injury, we can bet on him returning now.
Wait until they start declaring and I'll revamp the list to include 'almost' everyone with season and career stats.
There are a few QBs that are not on this list that I have been watching separately each week that will definitely make that watchlist.

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Championship Week QBs
Sam Darnold 17/24 325 yards, 2TDs
Riley Ferguson 30/42 471 yards, 4TDs, 1INT
Baker Mayfield 15/23 243 yards, 4TDs

Re: 2017 College Football QB Watchlist
Updated QB rankings. Again, as for how I see that they could work in the Steelers system.
1. Sam Darnold - Size, arm strength, and mobility. A very BigBen-esque QB, IMO. Downside is he does have a turnover history.
2. Kurt Benkert - Size, arm strength, accuracy, and mobility. Another BigBen-esque QB. Downside is maybe not mobile enough.
3. Josh Rosen - Prototypical golden boy QB. Great, beautiful, spiral passes into tight windows. Best pure passer in the draft. Downside is his durability history with concussions, 2 this past season.
4. Baker Mayfield - Does it all. Mobile, strong arm, a leader on and off the field. Knows how to throw guys open and with good touch. Downside is he IS under 6'2" tall. Showed some timidness against Ga defenders.
5. Jeremiah Briscoe - WHO? Size, arm strength, accuracy. Consecutive Walter Payton Award winner 2016/17. Downside is his level of competition has been at the FCS level.
