Still, as a RB mid foot injury could keep Bell sidelined for awhile

I have yet to see anything on it ... 10 weeks is considered the normal baseline from what I have read some more severe can be a season long injury , so assuming its LESS severe as reported ( can only guess to time table ) 4-6 weeks sounds about right ( but is not necessarily correct ) that would mean week 2 best case scenario ??? again just guess work based on the info I have seen

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 2m
Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell to miss preseason game vs KC with mid-foot sprain that sounds problematic.

Re: Le'Veon Bell's injury to right foot not as significant as teammate Matt Spaeth's
I hope this is not a sign of things to come because, we don't need a back who is glass.

Re: Le'Veon Bell's injury to right foot not as significant as teammate Matt Spaeth's
Bell to get second opinion.....that sounds....scary
Le'Veon Bell is getting a second opinion on his foot injury.
Second opinions can be scary because they suggest that the player or team was not happy with the original opinion. In this case, Bell's initial diagnosis was a mid-foot sprain. That injury can vary greatly in terms of severity and rehab time, so we suspect Bell could be meeting with a foot specialist such as Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte. All the Steelers have said is that their second-round rookie will not play in this week's preseason game and they are awaiting a final diagnosis.

I am discouraged.....The only good news, Dwyer has been good against the Redskins

Re: Le'Veon Bell's injury to right foot not as significant as teammate Matt Spaeth's
If it is a Lisfranc fracture, I wouldn't expect him back till early or mid October. It definitely hurts this team, but I think Issac and Johnny will be able to handle the starting running back position until he gets back. I would rather have Isaac starting as well.

If he needs surgery, he's done for the rookie year. Hello Michael Turner or Willis McGahee?? Lol...
Redman still blows.

we could get lucky
Midfoot Sprains in NFL Players: Treatment and Severity
Return to play without surgery seen in grade 2 Lisfranc injuries
A study presented at the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Specialty Day found that professional football players who sustain minor midfoot sprains and are managed conservatively may return to play within 3 weeks. Results also showed that players with severe injuries underwent surgery more than 90 percent of the time.

doesn't matter how long he's out now
what does matter is winning some games
you know what I say...
Dump the running game!
Shotgun, no huddle, spread offense, 5 WIDE!
it's the only way to win now, who's with me?

As long as you can get the ball out of there in less than 3 seconds. Our line of scrimmage is still sorely lacking. The D side is a little better, but the O side has given very little room for optimism. And if they do block, they get a penalty.
Lots of work left to do and time is running out. Bicknell and the Boys should be burning the midnight oil.

we sure aren't going to win many games with that same O-line and a piddly ass running game
2 sec
all's we need is 2 sec - Ben will do the rest
shotgun, no-huddle, spread offense - bam bam bam down the field we go - 30 pts a game - that's what we need
5 WIDE!!!

Re: Le'Veon Bell's injury to right foot not as significant as teammate Matt Spaeth's
The guy suffers an injury that sidelines him for 6 weeks after only FOUR carries. Looks like another month of suffering through the RB-by-committee thing that didn't work last year

Re: Le'Veon Bell's injury to right foot not as significant as teammate Matt Spaeth's
Quote:
Lisfranc (midfoot) injuries result if bones in the midfoot are broken or ligaments that support the midfoot are torn. The severity of the injury can vary from simple to complex, involving many joints and bones in the midfoot.
A Lisfranc injury is often mistaken for a simple sprain, especially if the injury is a result of a straightforward twist and fall. However, injury to the Lisfranc joint is not a simple sprain that should be simply "walked off." It is a severe injury that may take many months to heal and may require surgery to treat.
