‘Did Y’All Even Practice?’: Shannon Sharpe Rips Steelers Offense After Lackluster Performance
https://steelersdepot.com/2024/08/di...r-performance/
Sharpe is right.. Preseason or not the team is always unprepared and undiciplined. Can't wait until the reg season starts and see if anyone, players and coaches did anything to change this mess.
:pin::lol:
I'd rather see this team struggle now instead of false hope.
Vanilla. When this happens in week one and week two of the regular season, then we have something to worry about…
I don't care if the play calling of Smith is good or not in the preseason. But for the o-line,this is a another story
Seriously, I am not expecting big things from this offense.
Remember, not only Canada, but Haley had to redo the whole offense and there were growing pains in the first year and a half. Only when the Oline started gelling and the running game got better and AB started tearing up the league did the offense get going.

The Smiths got Boz`s dinner for the week

The Steelers have not began a season strong in many years. For some reason they try to time the peak in the last quarter, but often lose to inferior teams along the way. Yesterday was different despite it being raw. The offense at times looked like a college squad, but they did enough to win it.
Could be the Bengals every season and start 0-2…
Smith isn't the problem.
Only if Fire Arians/Goodell says so
Whoever thinks they know what this offense will eventually be with a new OC, a new offense, and a backup quarterback playing on a day's notice is kidding themselves.
Let's see a little more before we judge.
Fields has a difficult time taking a snap from under center. It's hard to use play action as much as they may like to with Fields' inability to play from under center at the moment.
Sure.. but I donn’t buy the last minute notice excuse. Fields has 40 starts and this looked just like his last 39 games. Best bet is he has a long run or 2 or throws a bubble screen that hits a TD.
He does have a nice deep ball but the man cant even use play action due to his struggles under center.
Hope Russ is ready this week and we see something different.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin gives three-word response to Arthur Smith debut
https://sports.yahoo.com/steelers-hc...V3prVeinON3sFR
Week 1 -18 points
Week 2 - 13 points
FIRE Arthur Smith!!
First half today looked great. Something in the second half went wrong. Still think the Oline needs some work.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are off to a hot start at 2-0. However, their offense has been anything but hot in those two wins. New offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's offense has only generated one touchdown, a 5-yard pass from QB Justin Fields to TE Darnell Washington. Otherwise, it has been K Chris Boswell who is putting points up.

The past two Sundays I have watched at least a quarter of every game played. Many in entirety. The Steelers offense could be good but they literally take 1-2 risks a game with the passing game, and almost none when there is a lead. Other teams (90%) continue to take calculated risks even when ahead by 15-20 points. I can’t blame Fields in any way for the small numbers. It’s the offensive philosophy. I can’t argue with 2-0 both on the road. So I doubt Tomlin cares what his critics think.

To find out what this offense can do, unfortunately they’re going to have to play from behind. That’ll happen soon enough.
8 FG's and 1 TD.
and we are 2-0. But last year the wins didn't seem to help if we didn't put up 20 points. Thankful for the wins but this offense is still offensive.
I hope we give Wilson a shot soon to we can see if this is a Fields thing or it will happen regardless of the QB. We play not to lose football.
Maybe the Steelers' performance in Week 1 wasn't so bad after all. The Eagles just lost to the Falcons at home.
