Cincinnati - Johnny Cueto (2.97 ERA - 1.69 Career Postseason ERA)
Pittsburgh - Francisco Liriano (3.02 ERA - 5.87 Career Postseason ERA)
I wouldn't mind if they started Cole for this game, but that won't happen.
Liriano has a phenomenal skill set at PNC park, I'm good with him getting the nod

Looks like Liriano might have a short leash in case he has a bad start they might toss Cole in to try and keep it under control.
The "blackout" would be awesome to see!

If that's the approach, wouldn't it make more sense to start Cole? Liriano comes in if Cole has trouble, or he starts Game 1 if it goes smoothly.Quote:

lirano is dealing right now but we have to keep the energy up and that adrenaline flowing.
Liriano sitting them down quickly. He isn't that deep into the pitch count, and I think that Cueto is rattled.
I never thought I would see this again. I remember being a sophomore in HS listening to the Pirates-Braves game at work, and then my manager sent me home. I pedaled my ass off getting home only to see Sid Bream rounding third. But, I have never taken my Pirates hat off! I have been sporting a Pirates ball cap for as long as I can remember. Most of the time I felt like the coffee drinkers in Major League (who the hell are these guys) but I have always supported them.
