Pretty impressive the way KP ran the offense in last 2 minutes. Poised, unflappable with great command presence in closest thing to a playoff game he’s played in.

Anyone can evaluate a Quarterback when things go great. The conditions couldn't have been any worse for Pickett. Frigid temperatures. The Offense is dead. The run game hasn't been there. You need a touchdown.
He didn't have tiny hands and "poor arm strength" on that absolute ROPE to Pickens. That was a Franchise Quarterback throw.
Pickett threw some lasers today, one of them the game winner. I don't get how people say he's got a weak arm, it's not Josh Allen or Mahomes, but definitely not weak.
He had some bad throws last night…but then so did most of the league. He made some really nice throws and I noticed he was putting a little extra zip on the ball as well.
I think he’s showing enough growth were you could say with more line protection and better offensive coordination he could really shine next year
that game winning drive said a lot - in cold weather with the season on the line. I just like his athletic ability, accuracy, and imo his steady improvement in decision making.Steelers got to give him every chance to succeed next year.
Mahomes has an elite arm. He can get the ball where he needs to with just enough touch and just enough oomph. There are a few names you can put there. Josh Allen can get the ball where he needs to as well. For me, why Josh isn't elite arm talent is he gets it with the same velocity every throw. Each Bills game I have watched he bounces a few 5-10 yard throws off guys hands because he puts the same oomph on it as if it were a 30-50 yard throw. I think he's close though.
KP has not shown that ability to get the ball just anywhere he wants to just yet. But what he has shown is he can put the ball into spots where only his guy can get it. That is accuracy and anticipation. I don't know how you would measure his arm 'strength'. I've seen enough this season to welcome him back as the opening day starter next season. Nice job Rook!
This is a huge bonus when you have the arm and legs of Mahomes and Allen but you also can be great in the current NFL even if you are not a elite athlete(Joe Burrow is a exemple)
No, a weak arm is Rudolph, although he's fixed his mechanics enough to overcome a lot of that (but not all). Pickett just has a slightly below average to average arm strength.
My concern with Pickett continues to be him missing the easier 7-10 yard throws that seem to keep going high on him. There are lots of positives, but that's a glaring issue that is too consistent. I'd like to see him work with a QB coach in the off-season to hopefully fix that.
I have always thought that a good comparison to Pickett is Matt Hasselbeck. Not the strong arm of a Favre, or Roethlisberger, but enough arm strength and velocity to be effective intermediate and deep passer. Athletic to evade the rush and scramble, but a guy that seems to get set and make quick decisions of where to throw the football.
Game winning drive in the 4th quarter is a positive sign for the young man. A good team win.
I was more concerned about his arm strength after the first couple of games. His past 5 or so games have alleviated my concerns. His velocity has been on display in the intermediate passes, thus he's able to throw it into tight windows. He can make a living doing that. His arm talent is superior to guys like Tua and Mac Jones. I'd project him to be above average is so many areas that the overall will end up being excellent. Accuracy is the least of my concerns. I've watched Mahomes and Allen miss a lot of the same type throws the past 3-4 weeks in this cold weather. A guy who progresses as much as Kenny on a weekly basis is going to come into next year ready to ball.
Imo, Pickett is above average in every category there is. He's like the character in a video game who's well balanced and pretty good overall at everything, but not the best at anything. Anyone saying he lacks arm strength are the same people that say a QB is lacking arm strength because they can't throw it as far as Allen or Mahomes, and that's just crazy.
I would be so happy if the PFF would be credible for me....
Not this.....
Steelers made a colossal mistake not trading up for Justin Fields in 2021

Dan Orlavsky: Here’s a three-minute breakdown of how great Kenny was on that game-winning TD pass.
DerpFan412: Yea, but what about the other 59 minutes…
I am appreciating the fact that the Steelers dont have Malik Willis and Josh Dobbs on the roster at QB and have Pickett instead.
Optimism for the future, this offense potentially has a solid young core. Pickett, Pickens, Freiermuth, Harris / Warren. DJ if he can show up in the clutch, I haven't given up on him 100% yet. Hopefully Pickens and Fry making plays will motivate him to step his game up (which he has in the last few weeks).
Also holding out hope that Austin III can contribute next year and not be another undersized bust like Rainey and Archer
Willis doesn’t have the it factor…
Willis won't be in the NFL in 3 years, book it. Those 'extremely raw' QB's work out about 0% of the time. The last one that was overly hyped was Trey Lance. 2 years later he still sucks, and probably permanently lost his job to Prudy. If you think of it, most quarterbacks who are playing in college likely played quarterback since HS, if they still haven't gotten it by then, they most likely won't.
I think prospects like Desmond Ridder and Sam Howell would have a better chance at NFL success
Hopefully the USFL will take some of these scrub QBs and help get them out of the NFL. Canada already doesn't seem interested in them.
I’ll lead with my chin on this one. He wasn’t good for pretty big swathes of the game.
He’s got some stuff to build on. But we need to remember that right now KP isn’t a good QB.
He leads an offense that can’t score TDs. I know Canada and all that but he’s the QB and he leaves points on the field consistently.
Maybe I’m looking for too much? It’s not like I’m trying to say he’s terrible or even that bad. But the best example I can remember is there was a 3rd down where Harris went out over the middle. KP didn’t see him. Rolled right and tried to hit Harris on a “second action” kinda play. Missed him and had the pass knocked down by a defender. Drive over. Harris was open early and for reasons I’m not capable of knowing, KP just never got to him. He seemed to hesitate rather than hit him quickly. Is that fair to put on a rookie? No idea. If Harris was the third or some emergency option, then likely not. But if he was the first option then KP was “bad” on that specific play.
I’m also not certain my recall is totally accurate. But the Steelers struggle to score points each week. At some point the QB has to receive a portion of the “blame” for that.
Carr got benched over his performance. Should KP? Absolutely not! But I’m having a hard time just shrugging anything and everything off. He’s got a lot of work to do this offseason.
