Anyone can evaluate a Quarterback when things go great. The conditions couldn't have been any worse for Pickett. Frigid temperatures. The Offense is dead. The run game hasn't been there. You need a touchdown.Quote:

Pickett threw some lasers today, one of them the game winner. I don't get how people say he's got a weak arm, it's not Josh Allen or Mahomes, but definitely not weak.
He had some bad throws last night…but then so did most of the league. He made some really nice throws and I noticed he was putting a little extra zip on the ball as well.

KP has not shown that ability to get the ball just anywhere he wants to just yet. But what he has shown is he can put the ball into spots where only his guy can get it. That is accuracy and anticipation. I don't know how you would measure his arm 'strength'. I've seen enough this season to welcome him back as the opening day starter next season. Nice job Rook!
This is a huge bonus when you have the arm and legs of Mahomes and Allen but you also can be great in the current NFL even if you are not a elite athlete(Joe Burrow is a exemple)
No, a weak arm is Rudolph, although he's fixed his mechanics enough to overcome a lot of that (but not all). Pickett just has a slightly below average to average arm strength.Quote:

I have always thought that a good comparison to Pickett is Matt Hasselbeck. Not the strong arm of a Favre, or Roethlisberger, but enough arm strength and velocity to be effective intermediate and deep passer. Athletic to evade the rush and scramble, but a guy that seems to get set and make quick decisions of where to throw the football.Quote:

Imo, Pickett is above average in every category there is. He's like the character in a video game who's well balanced and pretty good overall at everything, but not the best at anything. Anyone saying he lacks arm strength are the same people that say a QB is lacking arm strength because they can't throw it as far as Allen or Mahomes, and that's just crazy.Quote:

I am appreciating the fact that the Steelers dont have Malik Willis and Josh Dobbs on the roster at QB and have Pickett instead.
Optimism for the future, this offense potentially has a solid young core. Pickett, Pickens, Freiermuth, Harris / Warren. DJ if he can show up in the clutch, I haven't given up on him 100% yet. Hopefully Pickens and Fry making plays will motivate him to step his game up (which he has in the last few weeks).
Also holding out hope that Austin III can contribute next year and not be another undersized bust like Rainey and Archer
Malik Willis would've been fine for the Steelers, but scouts warned that he was very raw. If Trubisky stunk, Willis wouldn't be ready to play.Quote:

Hopefully the USFL will take some of these scrub QBs and help get them out of the NFL. Canada already doesn't seem interested in them.
