ESPN's layoffs are largely because people cancelled cable and/or selected packages without ESPN and they couldn't hit their previous income projections and got stuck with the bill for NFL games and high earning on air folks. YouTube, Amazon, and whatever other pay service jumps into the fray are likely going to lose money in the long run as well.
But back to my point....don't pay for stuff you don't want or don't agree with the price for. Cut the cord, became a rampant internet pirate, whatever. Screw 'em all. Watching shows and sports I like shouldn't be a dang choose your own adventure novel of stupid options.
