Nobody said he was a "great" quarterback. What I said was that he was a better QB than a lot of his detractors in Pittsburgh thought he was. And I was right.

Totally right, a lot of people thought he should be out of the league and he proved them wrong. I don’t like these categorical statements like ‘he’ll never more than backup’. Actually, nobody knows how good he’ll be. He may continue to get better in Tennessee or not. But no one is insightful or smart enough to know for sure.
Like it’s Hard to say how good fields will be. A lot depends on his work ethic and the ability of Arthur smith to help him along. I hope Fields becomes the next Steve Young. He could be another Kordell Stewart, who knows.

Probably just a coincidence.
But you don't understand. Since it was done to Kenny, it's OK.

I would rather have Fields as the starter this year than Wilson. I don't think much of either of them, but Fields' youth at least gives him a chance at an upside.

I agree 100%. But Rust Wilson's ego is as big as NYC, no way he plays behind Fields.

The Steelers just somehow keep having bad luck with these "cancers" that find their way onto the team. Like I said, probably just a coincidence.
Those examples can be found on every team. But then you don’t hate every team’s coach. Just Tomlin.

No one likes getting told that they're taking a pay cut or having their role reduced.
Every player you've listed thought they should be starting and getting paid. The team disagreed.
Happens every day across the league.
It's a non-issue.

Steven Nelson thought he outplayed his contract and wanted out because they wasnt gonna give him more $$$ seen the grass was greener on the other side .... the funny part was he grumbled enough that they released him and he left his best paycheck of his career vanish in Pittsburgh to sign a series of 1 and 2 year deals for far less money ..if Nelson had it to do all over again my guess is he would have kept his mouth shut and collected that money in Pittsburgh

Kevin Dotson is making a pretty nice chunk of change and having a pretty nice career in LA. Way more money in LA than Pittsburgh. Good move.
Nelson made more in two seasons with Pittsburgh than he has in the 7 other “contract” seasons he’s been in the NFL. Bad move.
You can find a list of cancers on every team…it’s not just a Steelers or a “Tomlin thing”.
What about the production Tomlin got out of Antonio Brown? There’s no credit for that or he’s just considered an enabler and handled it terribly?

Re: Kenny Pickett traded to Eagles.
2 months after he left Pittsburgh, Deebo said it was only business and had nothing personal against Tomlin and the Steelers, He said he would come back to reunions and he has.
Suckerpunch said he only had issues with Haley and nothing against Tomlin.

what I typed has no bearing on you being wrong about 2019 being Mason’s second year and being wrong about 2021 with Mason and Muth.
wow, didn’t know it was this hard to admit a mistake. :scratchchin:

I didn’t see these 2 as cancers. Nelson wanted more money, Dotson kept committing penalties.
We screwed up by moving Dotson from his natural position.
I do believe QB and OL are 2 positions we have been terrible at evaluating these last 2 years

Some teams have been bad at evaluating the QB position for the last 50 years! Bears and Browns come to mind.

no what is hard is to know who I am speaking with because you and fordfairlane are both jumping in on same post as if you are one person , so I must ask are you ?? I mean you have a reputation of doing this sort of thing on the other board .....
if I am wrong I apologize but I have to ask because its odd at best

regardless of me thinking 2020 was his sophomore year ( it was 2019) Muth still was not part of the team till 2021 and THAT was my point

and the scary part is we just picked up our second failed QB from the Bears and have high hopes for him.
not sure what other teams failures have to do with ours. All teams have their soft spots. My concern is our team and how we handle players. Recently we haven’t done the best job when it comes to putting players in positions to succeed.
We moved up to grab Jones and play him at RT? Kendrick Green at Center? Dotson was moved from his natural position? Leal in limbo? Kenny was 78% in play action so Canada rarely used it last year.
Watch us try to turn Fields into a pocket passer and put Wilson in positions to fail.
Sorry for the negativity but after a few days of joy I’m coming back to reality and wondering if we made
moves just to make moves.

lmao.. hell yeah you are wrong af. Respectfully eat a bag of em sideways for trying to play me with that “on the other board” nonsense. Now you are sounding like those lames who accused YOU of being someone else.
You really can’t handle being told you were wrong by more than one person? Man up my dude. Thought you were better than that.
2 people are pointing out that you were wrong about 2020 being his sophomore year. Why the hell would I need an alias to tell you that you are wrong AGAIN? Like my words aren’t enough. I’m not one of those soft dudes who needs a group to hold my own.
Man really asked if I was 2 people because he made a mistake and doubled down on it.
Everyone makes mistakes, no need to go on the attack or question my integrity because you didn’t know 2019 comes after 2018.
The funniest part.. you are still trying to claim you were right about Muth not being on the team in 2020 when no one else besides you said he was on the team.
That person said Muth fumbled in the Lions game. The game Ben missed with Covid. In the year of 2021. Yet you still try to win the debate no one else made because you can’t get your years straight. No one ever said Muth was on the team in 2020. Mason didn’t play in 2020 vs the Lions. He didn’t start any games in 2020 as far as I remember.
oops he started week 17 vs CLE in 2020. My mistake. See how easy that is to do?

So Tomlin should have ignored the emergence of TJ Watt and kept playing Harrison? Is that how you would have played it? And the same with LeVeon Bell? If you can't outplay the competition for your position is that the coaches fault? Is this Pop Warner where playing time is guaranteed regardless of performance? These men are getting paid a lot of money. What is guaranteed are the terms of the contract, not how it plays out on the field.

it wasn't Rudolphs sophomore year , Muth wasn't part of the team till 21 ...maybe I did a poor job of wording it but the fact still remains in Reindeer's sophomore year Muth was still at Penn State that was and is still my point ....
is that clear enough to understand ?
again this is what I was responding too if you cant understand it I do not know what to tell you because its clear what he said and its clear it is wrong
the word AND lumps the two statements together ... had he omitted AND and put a comma in there then its two different statements ... but whatever man

You are touched. FFL is talking about different times in Mason’s career as a Steeler career. The word “and” is a conjunction. In Mason’s sophomore year (2019) he was thrust into the starting line up AND the covid game where Mason didn’t get any reps because he found out on saturday night. Anyone who follows the Steelers closely knows that Muth and DJ fumbled after receptions in the Lions game in 2021. Dude even follows up with another sentence to remind you it was the Lions game.
Not sure how a comma, period, new paragraph gets you to 2020 and Muth not being on the team.
but yeah.. its whatever, all this could’ve been done with a “oops, my bad”
Starting to get worried that YOU may be someone else from the other board who refuses to admit mistakes even after you provided evidence that shows you are wrong.
all good tho, it happens.

How convenient for you that you don't have to give any evidence of your own to dispute the evidence that Edman gave. Anybody who disagrees with you on this topic is automatically discredited because they "hate Tomlin".
