Why did NFL network and Deion not interview Shazier after being drafted? Did I miss it somehow?

I wasn't expecting Shazier but I love the pick.

Shazier beside Timmons inside is going to be beautiful. Worilds and Jarvis outside. Now Moats is truly going to flex for us and backup at both positions. Vince Williams as a backup as he should be at this point. After June 1st let's bring back Harrison for a last hurrah to shore up the other side.

And I wager Spence's health is just fine but even when we drafted him, the dude's not really a ILB. A tweener, situational guy, or maybe safety conversion project. He could even be special... but in his role, not manning the line full-time.

Linebacker City Baby!

Not totally pissed about the pick especially since Gilbert and Fuller were gone. Shazier will be a force beside Timmons. He has great speed, instinct and football IQ. Just not sure he was worth the 15th pick overall. I would have liked them t trade down but maybe they had no takers. As far as Spence is concerned, I'm not sure this has anything to do with his development. He was never a 3 down player at ILB. Shazier can be. If Spence develops then they will have a lot of options on obvious passing situations.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Jets select Manziel. No logic, long shot, but its the Jets.

Well it'll be interesting which LB turns out better. Shazier or Mosely.

If they wanted an ILBer, I dont know why they didnt go with Mosley.

IMO, Shazier is the better athlete of the two and has better football IQ.

I wonder why the Steelers decided not to draft a corner. Only thing that I can really think of is that there is someone who they could pick up in the later rounds who they really like.

McGill and Baptiste are both very prototypically what the Steelers would want. They're just not guys who could start this year. But you have Allen blossoming, Ike back for another season, and a few guys who can backup if they really had to. If you weren't going to start Dennard this year anyways, why not wait and get McGill or Baptiste?

Good point. I know this year's draft has plenty of depth at the corner position, but I don't know every corner in the draft. I'll look up the two you mentioned to get some info on them.

Better athlete doesnt mean better football player. No one talked about Shazier untill the combine and his pro day.

+1. Shazier seems to be a high character guy with no questions about his desire or ability to lead. I know the ILB spot beside Timmons was a real issue last year (...with Troy coming up there so often to compensate...), and perhaps the Steelers saw this as the biggest weakness on the defense, not corner.

Being a Buckeye and Big 10 fan, it's because like Dwins said, he is a PI flag waiting to happen. With Gilbert and Fuller gone better to get a CB later.

I read that about Shazier. A high character player is the type of person the Steelers like to have. I don't expect much out of a rookie, but he could be a good Steeler. Maybe another James Farrior leader type?

I read that as well that Dennard has penalty issues with PI and holding.

and less injury history , Mosley shoulder issue isnt a good injury for a Linebacker to have to over come ...to be honest I think we stole the Ravens pick

OK, I'll correct that statement. Better athlete and overall football player. I say overall football player because he is good in all phases of the defensive game. He will never have to come off the field.

Shazier will play inside? For what reasons? Why not take Mosely if they wanted an inside lb?
