Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Trump is going to surprise a lot of people.... including the GOP faithful because he isn't in the fraternity of the career politicians. The people like that. I like that. If nothing else, his popularity with the people (a respectable % at any rate) should send a message loud and clear that the people are tired of the political circus that has taken over.... and the clowns that run it.

No wonder Hillary is keeping her mouth shut, there's a skeleton in every closet....what e-mails?
Hillary aide Huma Abedin under investigation for overpayments at State Department
The office of inspector general at the State Department is investigating longtime Hillary Clinton friend and aide Huma Abedin for recieving pay she was not eligible for while she worked for Clinton at the State Department.
"The pay dispute is only part of the investigation. The potential bombshells come when Abedin's curious arrangement with the United States government regarding her employment at State, as well as with the Clinton Foundation and a private firm closely associated with the Clintons, are examined, along with the probable thousands of emails associated with Abedin's employment that were lost when Hillary's private email server was destroyed..."

Yes, the guy who inherited his father's fortune and ran his company bankrupt 4 times is an economic genius
I really do wonder if people realize that straight talking isnt a good thing if you have no idea what youre talking about. No candidate has been more ambiguous and/or blatantly stupid about the intricacies of their ideas than Trump.
"I relate to the middle class more than anybody".......How?
"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists."....Oh you mean the 1,100+ immigrants that your company sought visas for s you could import them. Oh, and you mean the drug war that Americans fund.
"I will make Mexico pay for that wall"....Lol. How do you figure that.
"McCain is only a war hero because he got captured."....yes, lets discount the efforts of those who put their life on the line.
“I say that you can defeat ISIS by taking their wealth. Take back the oil. Once you go over and take back that oil, they have nothing. You bomb the hell out of them, and then you encircle it, and then you go in. And you let Mobil go in, and you let our great oil companies go in. Once you take that oil, they have nothing left."....yes, another oil war is just what we need. at least he's honest here about admitting what most of these operations in the Middle East are happening for.
"I’m not telling you anything. And the reason I’m not is because if I run and I win, I don’t want them to know the game plan.”....Wow what a productive answer. "Im going to be a president with a plan, but youll have to vote for me to actually find out."
There are thousands of these. No one needs to run a negative ad against this guy because he does it to himself.
At least this upcoming election will be amusing to say the least. I think most people regardless of political affiliation want to see Donald make it to the general election. I sure do

Donald Trump accuses Obama of 'doing absolutely nothing for the black community'
Days after assuring that he has the support of Hispanic voters, Donald Trump has now claimed that African-American people are also on his side - and that Obama has let them down.
In yet another round of bashing the President, the billionaire said Obama has done 'absolutely nothing' for the black community.
He gave the comments during an interview on Sunday with ABC This Week.
'I think he (Obama) has done a very poor job as president,' Trump said.
'We have $18 trillion in debt and (it's) going up rapidly
'We don't have victories anymore. China is killing us on trade, Mexico is killing us at the border and also on trade.
'I think that he has set a very poor standard. I think that he has set a very low bar. And I think that it's a shame for the African-American people.
'And by the way, he has done nothing for African-American people.
'You look at what's going on with their income levels, their youth
'I thought he would be a great cheerleader for this country. I thought that he would have done a great job for the Africa-American citizens of this country.
'He has done nothing. They are worse now than just about ever.'

With debate looming, Trump has huge lead in new poll
The identities of the 10 Republicans likely to be on stage at Thursday’s presidential debate are coming into focus after another poll on Monday shows Donald Trump running away from the rest of the field and Rick Perry lagging behind his competitors for the final spot.
A new Monmouth University poll has Trump at 26 percent, easily topping his competitors. The next-closest candidates — former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker — are at 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

TED CRUZ SPEAKS IN LA, CONTINUES QUEST TO END IRAN DEAL
Mr. President, we see across the globe the rise in radical Islamic terror. i’ll tell you right now you cannot win a war on radical Islamic terror with a president and an administration unwilling to utter the words “radical Islamic terror.”
“If this deal is such a good idea, then I challenge President Obama and Secretary Kerry and Secretary Clinton to come and look in the eyes of the mothers and fathers who have lost their soldiers and tell them it’s a good idea.
In the midst of negotiating this deal, Ayatollah Khameini led a chant of “Death to America” while American flags were burning. If history teaches one principle, it is that if somebody tells you they want to kill you, believe them.

Hillary Clinton shouldn’t be on the campaign trail right now, she should be in prison.
According to Judge Andrew Napolitano, several emails he read from Hillary revealed the location of Ambassador Stevens in Libya, along with the location of fighter jets during NATO bombings.
Check out this video for details. The remarks about the specific emails above begins at the 2:45 mark.

Did you hear Cruz's answer to the Whore of Babylon near the end?
“Senator Cruz, start from you. Any word from God?” Kelly asked.
“Well, I am blessed to receive a word from God every day in receiving the scriptures and reading the scriptures. And God speaks through the Bible,” Cruz replied, to applause.
“I'm the son of a pastor and evangelist, and I've described many times how my father, when I was a child, was an alcoholic. He was not a Christian. And my father left my mother and left me when I was just three years old.
“And someone invited him to Clay Road Baptist Church. And he gave his heart to Jesus, and it turned him around. And he got on a plane and he flew back to my mother and me.
“I would also note that the scripture tells us, ‘You shall know them by their fruit.’ We see lots of campaign conservatives. But if we're going to win in 2016, we need a consistent conservative, someone who has been a fiscal conservative, a social conservative, a national security conservative.”
He added that he has “been proud to fight and stand for religious liberty, to stand against Planned Parenthood, to defend life for my entire career.”
Sen. Mark Rubio (R-Fla.) was next, but Kelly changed the question a bit, telling Rubio, “a woman just came here to the stage and asked, what about the veterans?” She then asked Rubio “about God and the veterans.”
“Well, first, let me say I think God has blessed us. He has blessed the Republican Party with some very good candidates. The Democrats can't even find one,” Rubio said to laughter and applause.
“And I believe God has blessed our country. This country has been extraordinarily blessed. And we have honored that blessing. And that's why God has continued to bless us.
“And he has blessed us with young men and women willing to risk their lives and sometimes die in uniform for the safety and security of our people.” He went on to talk about the failures of the Veterans Administration.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
It's hard to judge how this debate turned out for most of the candidates. The question "who won" is fundamentally silly. Everybody who gains as a result "wins".
It's the most watched primary debate in history, so lots of people tuned in who normally don't pay attention.
3 questions:
1) What impression did it make on people who don't know the candidates?
2) What impression did it make on people who already have a candidate?
3) How did it affect the news coverage, which influences those who didn't watch?
My take...
1) newbies... Fiorina, Carson, and Kasich had the strongest showing. I think Paul and Jindal were the weakest.
2) supporters... Trump was the only one (IMO) who lost big. Jeb Bush maintained his standing.
3) news coverage... Fiorina clearly "won" this debate. Paul raised his stock and Christie just bombed out. Trump had a really bad day... except he's doing a victory lap over the online polling, so maybe he didn't.
On point 1, my take is the weakest. It's hard to put myself in the shoes of someone who doesn't follow this stuff. Just looking at the superficial impressions, Fiorina and Carson looked really "presidential" while Paul came off as desperate.
#2 was anybody who already had a favorite candidate swayed away from them? Clearly I agree with Paul and Cruz and disagree with Christie and Graham. I didn't see anything that swayed me otherwise. I think this was true for most viewers (whoever their favorite is). Except for Trump. I think Trump showed a lot to discourage his base last night. Could be wrong...
I base #3 strictly on how the media covered the debates. Their storylines were 1) Trump had a bad day 2) Fiorina won both debates and 3) Paul thoroughly owned Christie on domestic data collection.
What weight should each approach be given? I don't know.
We'll see how this shook up the race in about a week.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
I think what Rand Paul said to Chris Christie was a low blow. The only thing Gov. Christie had on his mind that day was getting help for the people of his state....immediate need for food, water, and shelter. He only did what any good leader should do and what I would expect out of the leader of the free world. If Obama used it for his own political gain to win re-election, then shame on HIM.
I watched both debates and was very impressed with Carly Fiorina. For much of the country, it was an introduction to someone who, before Thursday night, was relatively unknown. She made a very good first impression and I wish she had been on the later debate so 24 million people could have heard her. I did find some negative history that I'm sure Hillary will use against her, but Carly seems more than capable of handling it. Her stock on the rise and who knows what could happen. There were several candidates that I would have no problem supporting, even though I don't agree with anyone of them 100%. This is going to get very interesting before it gets to the point where we all say, "I don't care who wins, just STFU about it!"
Maybe I just see some poetic justice in the thought of seeing Hillary's face if someone else claims the title of "First Woman President of the United States" .

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
And IMO, whoever wins the election would be a fool not to include Carly Fiorina and Dr. Ben Carson in their administration. Both are extremely intelligent people who want see this country be great again. Dr. Carson is such a smart and compassionate human being and is the perfect person to help heal the division that the current president has created. Dr. Ben Carson "gets it". I really like him, but he doesn't have snowball's chance in hell to become president...at least this time around.
