totally understood...I was pissed when he bailed as well. Like I mentioned though, we don't know what he was told by Tomlin. When we first heard about it, the impression I got was it's was Kenny's job to lose going in which became he'd get the chance to win the job. We don't know the truth but I would have much rather see him nut up and go get the job. A lot of people were really down on Pickett the moment he was chosen and seemed to relish his struggles with Canada's useless offense. It would have been nice to see how he would have done in a real NFL offense. I don't think that will happen until next year. As I'm typing this I'm watching Sam Darnold look like an absolute stud for the Vikings and look how his career started. Has QBing for the Steelers become as bad as doing so for the Jets? lol

I’m watching Darnold as well. Just scored another TD on great throw, the first TD dude was open by 10 yards. It’s got to be both he and Kevin O’Connell. Not sure how you move on from him.

Whatever it is, we currently don't have it. lol. Thankfully we don't have to contend with Canada anymore (he'd make Brady look bad) but we haven't had any continuity or real identity on offense in years.

This thread will be lit up like a Christmas tree at 2am this morning. KennyUniverse.com. All for completing 10 passes with two top 10 receivers, the best running back and a top tier o line.

Re: The Official Kenny Pickett thread
As much as I would go "I told you so". Kenny wouldn't be doing half the things he did today had he stayed with the Steelers. Kenny is the type of QB needs a top tier coaching staff and a great team and offensive system around him to develop in. He had none of those in Pittsburgh.
So yes, it was a good idea to move on from him, because Pickett wouldn't have succeeded. Justin Fields and Russ Wilson aren't faring that much better than Pickett is, and that is WITHOUT Matt Canada. I believe the problem is the Steelers themselves.

Oh yeah! His boy won his first game in over a year. Big day. Only thing bigger is if Steelers lose first round in playoffs. His year will be made. Crazy since he claims he’s a Steelers fan. Steelers over/under prior to season was 7.5, the so called fan was only one on here rooting for under , it’s documented. I’m celebrating as well, Parsons got nice hit on Kenny’s ribs.

OK, your writing was ambiguous and could have been interpreted either way. I'll accept that you meant it the way you now say you do.
Other than that, everything you said in this post is incorrect. I don't know if you're deliberately lying or if you're really stupid enough to believe this stuff. Either way, if this is the kind of thing that gets you off, have fun.

Because they DO care, of course. They care because they desperately want to be "right" about him and to feel superior to anyone who disagreed with them, and they think that if they keep bashing him and saying enough bad things about him often enough that this will somehow give the bad things that they said about him more validity.
Now that he is actually playing a little and doing better than they thought, I expect their attacks on him to increase. It's already starting to happen, and will intensify after his good performance against the Cowboys.

See what I mean? His accomplishments HAVE TO be diminished. The Good Ol' Boys CAN'T be proven wrong. Even more importantly, I CAN'T be proven right. :boink:

Exactly right. He wouldn't have succeeded with the Steelers. But it's not that it was a good idea for the Steelers to move on from him, it's that it was a good idea for HIM to move on from the Steelers.

Yes, it looks funny, but anyone who was actually watching the game saw that they showed a replay which showed that a Cowboy defender who was behind him hit his hand as he was starting to throw the pass, and it was his effort to try to stop the pass and hold onto the ball so it wouldn't be called a fumble that created that weird play.

True. A defender hit Pickett's arm in the act of throwing.
Pickett held onto the ball to try to avoid a turnover, and now people are running with youtube and tiktok videos to try to make Pickett look like a fool. It is the people that either don't know that the contact happened, or worse yet, they know that there was contact but are more interested in creating a picture that makes them look good and hurts Kenny Pickett.
Pickett was playing with broken ribs from last weeks game. He got a pain shot before the game, and then got a second shot at halftime just to get through as much of the game as possible. He led his team to 24 points at halftime, and he was instrumental in a 41-7 victory. It's pretty sad to think that he is out there playing hard through pain and doing everything in his power to play well for his team, yet some pansies are trying to create a false narrative to make themselves feel better.
It makes no sense to me.
I think Pickett got a raw deal here with terrible coaching and no support. He seems like a good enough guy, and I want to see him do well. With that said, if he's playing against the Steelers tomorrow, I hope the Steelers kick his teeth in.

Not misunderstood on that assumption. I wanted KP to feel his ribs. But certainly didn’t wish for injury or pneumothorax. Temporary pain. Hopefully he’s better in a couple days. The other “misunderstanding “ on you, hard to comprehend at 0300 I guess.

Your position is clear. Mine is Kenny refused to dress, pouted when MR named starter when he outplayed him and wanted out when veteran brought in to compete. The room needed improvement, MT and MR were gone. It seems our terrible coaches did pretty well with Fields, he looked improved over his play in Chicago. The situation is not black and white. For me it’s just a big leap blaming Steelers organization and Kenny having no accountability. He didn’t play well enough to get starting job handed to him. There had to be some communication on the situation between he and Tomlin I would think. Bottom line it’s all speculation. Had he stayed I’d be pushing for him to start this week due to Wilson’s poor play last three weeks. Since he’s the one who asked for trade , I hold him accountable for bailing when going got tough. I’m not trying to talk anyone out of their opinion, we all get one but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever have facts.

I had that point of view and still have part of it, but the guy bailed on his team, refused to dress and then requested a trade in some form or fashion because the team signed Russell Wilson. Lost respect for the baby.

The Pickett throw was funny. Regardless if there’s a logical explanation, it was funny. Only sensitive people are upset that people are laughing. Lighten up.

Exactly. It went viral for a reason. Pretty sure no one from here made that happen. It’s easy to tell who has thin skin. Voice of treason in his 70’s so he needs to be careful of skin tears.

You were rooting for Kenny to be injured, and you celebrated when it happened. You are one sick dude.
I can understand getting passionate about the Steelers, and we all have certain players and coaches that we like or dislike, but at the end of the day what we're talking about is a game, just a game. It entertains and distracts us, but in the long run it's not worth getting this upset over. To get so wrapped up in it that you are actually wishing a bodily injury on someone and rejoicing when that bodily injury happens indicates that your priorities are WAAAAY out of line, and you need to take a big step backward and do some soul searching about what's really important in life.

Everything you just said has been denied and debunked, but guys like you keep repeating it because it supports your anti-Kenny narrative. Don't let the truth get in the way of another opportunity to bash Kenny Pickett.

And you need to go back to reading comprehension. Getting nice hit in ribs is clear as day. So protective of your boy. It reads like you might actually be crying.
