That Dr. Seuss moment over, anyone with eyes should be able to see that a Smith offense is far different and more professional than anything Canada ever did. The fact that most of the pass plays are no longer just mirrored routes on either side of the field is a major improvement in and of itself. On most pass plays, even I can see how the routes are working together to stress the defense and create openings. For the running game....I think the concepts are more than sound. They are just miscast for this team right now. Ditch the wide zone nonsense and just start running at people and let these big old OL beat on someone.
While one may be able to argue that the end result is similar, it is completely silly to argue the offense looks the same.
And this is coming from someone who wasn't the biggest fan of the hire and expressed concerns about what the outcome would be.
