Still could see an ILB.
CB, Quincy Wilson would be a nice addition also.

I have seen Kpassagnon mocked everywhere from 50ish all the way to 170ish. Where do we take him? Is 62 too early???

nope ...
Williams is a fantastic player , its just a preference , I do not think at this point you could go wrong with a half dozen safeties ( at 62 ) but probably only 2-3 of them will be there

67% is too low IMO, for our 2 stars. Have to keep them up around 80 or so at least.

I completely disagree.
When Heyward was up around 87%... he waned by week 13, and the next year, he got injured (over use???).
When Tuitt was up around 77%... he got injured (over use???). When end they were able to rotate in Ricardo Matthews (good-bye Cam Thomas), Tuitt was able to play the entire season.
Make sense?

I thought their numbers were higher than that. Plus I thought most other DE's (stars at least) played up around that as well.
I am sure I heard Tuitt and Heyward were up near or over 90%

260 lbs. 4-3 DEs can play 90% of the snaps.
300 lbs. 3-4 DEs do not play anywhere near 90% of the snaps (except for JJ Watt).

Re: In the 62nd pick in the 2017,the Pittsburgh Steelers select....
They didn't get Peppers, Baker fits this mold.
Edit:
Josh Jones from NC State fits also.

And Watts back exploded as a result. Gotta get another DE to help carry the load.

For the Steelers, here's who they have:
MMQB:
62 Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M
94 Joshua Dobbs, QB, Tennessee
105 Taywan Taylor, WR, Western Kentucky
Dane Brugler:
62 Chris Godwin, WR, Penn St.
Lance Zierlein:
62 DeShone Kizer, QB, Norte Dame
94 Raekwon McMillan, ILB, Ohio St.
105 ArDarius Stewart, WR, Alabama
Matt Miller:
62 Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington
94 Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia
105 Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami
(This one seems the most correct to me.)

The Sporting News:
62 Chris Godwin, WR, Penn St.
94 Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
105 Marlon Mack, RB, South Florida
All three met with the Steelers, but that is a LOT of offense.
And... The Sporting News is :jerkit:

Re: In the 62nd pick in the 2017,the Pittsburgh Steelers select....
I'm thinking McMillan, Wormley or Sutton. With an outside shot at Jones.

Lot of solid DBs still available, hope the Steelers grab the best one available

Re: In the 62nd pick in the 2017,the Pittsburgh Steelers select....
Still holding out hope for Josh Jones. Maybe Obi if he gets to us. I'm a little stuck on the safety type that can roam if needed, but definitely a SS. On the other hand, what about a guy like Moreau who is a true centerfield FS? I just don't know how I feel about that type of safety.
I think it's going to be Cam Sutton. I hope for Josh Jones. Will settle for Budda Baker or Obi Melifonwu.
If Rivers, Bowser, or Willis are still there, I would consider a double dip at OLB.
I don't think it will be an offensive player, unless it's Godwin.

Agreed. I'd love if Awuzie fell. One of my favorite's. Day 1 slot corner.
Just can't rule out a trade up, they've wanted to before, now they have the ammo with the extra third.

Greg Warren's replacement
Really, I would like to see a CB.

Greg Warren should have a lifetime one-year deal. Lol.

If there's a strong outside CB, I'd be happy to pick him up in the second. I'm not sure about a slot CB as I'm still hopeful Senquez G. will get on the field this year and show us what he has. Otherwise, I'd like to see us lock down a TE or a RB to spell Bell and back him up if Bell gets injured.
Is there a TE or RB there worthy of a 2 round grade? Don't know.
-
Re: In the 62nd pick in the 2017,the Pittsburgh Steelers select....
Think Josh Jones is my guy. Need a big guy to defend guys like Eifert, and new Browns TE Njoku.
6'2", 4.4 speed.
#62: Josh Jones, Safety/Slot CB, NC State.
#94: Shaq Griffin, CB, UCF
#105: RB/WR

Running backs, yes:
Dalvin Cook, Florida St.
Alvin Kamara, Tennessee
D'Onta Foreman, Texas
Tight ends, it depends on who you ask:
Adam Shaheen, Ashland
Jordan Leggett, Clemson
Jake Butt, Michigan

Re: In the 62nd pick in the 2017,the Pittsburgh Steelers select....
If we want a money backer, Marcus Williams has never been talked about enough. I have all the confidence in the world that Budda Baker could do it even better, I just dont think he'll be there

With Baker or Obi or Williams for that matter, I don't think settling would be the right word. They are all good choices. Personally I would take any of the latter 3 over Jones.

I still say this only happens if there is a plan to move Watt to inside. I just can't see them taking a depth guy in the 2nd round at a position they just got a new starter if you will (Harrison will probably be starting on the first Sunday).

Maybe worthy but not worth it. I don't think you spend this high of a draft pick on depth. I think 1-3 you should be aiming for starters or very potential starters and after that you can start drafting for depth. If they take an RB early it should be because the plan isn't to sign Bell to a long term deal. Otherwise you just find a solid veteran as your backup and you are good to go. Solid RB's are a dime a dozen and that is really all you are looking for in a backup.

Do 40 times mean much to you for DBs? If so, what would be an acceptable range?

now that is a trick question LOL
yes they matter but only if it shows up on tape
meaning in 40 yard dash you can measure how quickly someone can run the distance in a straight line and they may not have the greatest of time and another guy may beat him by .2 seconds ( that is literally the blink of an eye ) some guys can make that difference up in recognition speed because CB is a read react position as much as anything else so it minimizes straight line speed to some degree if the player shows good awareness and reaction speed ...
I would draft a guy who has proven he can mirror a player in coverage over a player who has shown me he can run fast in a straight line .... you wont always have to run super fast but you always needs to be within arms reach of the man you are covering
prefer 4.5 or better but think some guys can run 4.6 and still get the job done
-
Re: In the 62nd pick in the 2017,the Pittsburgh Steelers select....
I really like the idea of having a guy named Wormley. Every team needs a "worm".

Not meant to be a trick question. The Steelers showed late interest in Myrick from Minn, speedy slot CB with decent production. I think he can be drafted on Saturday unless the 'predicted' run on DBs happens mid 2nd round. Then he would need to be taken tonight. Thing is, Myrick is not rated as highly as most of the guys on your list but can run with almost every slot WR in the NFL right now. If you go by his 40 time. Just not sure how important that is vs someone rated higher that plays the same position. Why the higher rating for a slot corner that runs slower? Tackling and ball skills seem about the same when you put the tape on. I would think, at slot, faster would mean better.
