You can't tell me the US military didn't know that the Afghan "military" was a bunch of spineless jellyfish? Twenty years of corruption! These US Presidents didn't support the Kurds with military hardware, who have been a trustworthy ally since the Gulf War against Iran, Iraq and ISIS. Yet they have been feeding a bunch of known corrupt cowards for 20 years and leave the Taliban with millions & millions of hardware.

In the 20 years since September 11, 2001, the United States has spent more than $2 trillion on the war in Afghanistan. That’s $300 million dollars per day, every day, for two decades. Or $50,000 for each of Afghanistan's 40 million people. In baser terms, Uncle Sam has spent more keeping the Taliban at bay than the net worths of Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates and the 30 richest billionaires in America, combined.
Those headline numbers include $800 billion in direct war-fighting costs and $85 billion to train the vanquished Afghan army, which folded in the weeks since the Pentagon’s sudden early July closure of Bagram Air Force Base eliminated the promise of air support against the advancing Taliban. U.S. taxpayers have been giving Afghan soldiers $750 million a year in payroll. All told, Brown University’s Costs of War Project estimates the total spending at $2.26 trillion.
And the costs are even greater in terms of lives lost. There have been 2,500 U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan, and nearly 4,000 more U.S. civilian contractors killed. That pales beside the estimated 69,000 Afghan military police, 47,000 civilians killed, plus 51,000 dead opposition fighters. The cost so far to care for 20,000 U.S. casualties has been $300 billion, with another half-trillion or so expected to come.
Then why continue?

Great points. What the US attempted in Afghanistan has worked exactly never. A lesson the US seems to need to learn every decade or so. The mission was doomed to failure from the moment the first boots hit the ground. Biden will eat the shit sandwich on this one but Bush, Obama, and Trump all have a part of this as well. Not to mention an ever useless Congress that authorized a never ending string of nonsense rather than actually make decisions.
Hopefully the US leadership caste will finally learn that all this kind of intervention does is waste blood and treasure to end up back where you started...

Because the United States Congress is a bunch of spineless frauds and cowards who were terrified to have the failure of Afghanistan laid at their feet so the just kept voting/acquiescing to a series of terrible ideas for two decades. It's not like its their money or their kids (for the most part).

You know, it actually is possible to both end a military engagement and, you know, do little things like NOT leave 40,000 people stranded in a conflict zone. Whoopsie.
Failed president, the whole world is laughing at us.

I think it’s pretty obvious unless you’re obtuse and only post animal photos. It’s the way the exit handled, or not handled. Its hard to watch a grown senile man blame others and end sentence with the buck stops here, lol. never would’ve happened under Trump watch! How do u know you ask? because it actually didn’t under his watch. Biden has fucked the southern border up, energy independence up , exiting Afghanistan up and inevitably the economy coming quickly. This is the kind of country you get when you normalize lbgqt and men being able to marry those born a man yet feels like a woman, born a woman yet don’t identify as any sex, or born a man and depending on day of week not sure what gender to identify with. If joe and camela only cared as much about the woman in Afghanistan, it doesn’t matter whom they identify with, there are getting gang raped! fucking pathetic leadership.

I never said they should have stayed, it was a big mistake, and four presidents kept funding this disaster.

I am not totally disagreeing with you BUT...it does need to be acknowledged and remembered that the current administration is implementing (badly) the terms of the agreement with the Taliban agreed to under the Trump administration.
Like I said earlier...tons of blame to go around.

Failed president, the whole world is laughing at us.
In otherwords the Afghan military should have fought for their country but BTW while you're fighting we're going to evacuate everyone who worked for us because you're going to lose.

Clearly you just don't have any clue. That's to be expected, since the animals whose pictures you so enjoy posting are far smarter than you.
Why are you back, by the way? Did you not get the memo that nobody likes you?

Biden and is merry band of misfits couldn't wait to dissolve everything Trump implemented for this country. If the agreement was so bad why didn't he axe that too? Because sleepy joe fucked this thing up. Say what you want about Trump and hate and despise him, but this wouldn't have never happened under his watch.

the crazy part is Joe told stepinopolis they couldn’t done things different, lmfao. he actually doubled down. of course it wouldn’t happened on trump watch, and it never did. what do we really expect, I mean trump orders solemani death and was criticized by sleepy and other libs. They just don’t get peace through strength, and never will.

That is basically the same thing that your failed president just did. Talk about a self-own. Anyone smarter than an ape can see there are better ways than that. So I guess at least you and Biden have one thing in common.

He did the exact same thing that you said would have been stupid and unrealistic. Unsurprisingly, it didn't work.
You were just too stupid to even realize that the idea you were using to call other people clueless was the same thing that your failed president actually did in real life.

All I was trying to do was see if there was any shared facts between all the shouting parties. Doesn't seem that way.
I've stated that Biden and company bungled this. Are you denying that in early 2020, the Trump administration announced a deal with the Taliban to leave by May of 2021? Legitimately curious what the understanding from your side is.
-
Re: Welcome to day 1 of the illegitimate U.S. government, make your predictions here
Have to say it, Biden bungled the exit. Although the security forces giving up the ground to the Taliban that quickly was probably unexpected. I honestly think nobody in afghanistan wanted the US there and probably didn't even put up a fight.
In any case that's no excuse, they should have had US citizens out of danger before any final exit was executed. Seeing how quickly that went to crap really pisses me off. I feel like I've been sent on deployments there for nothing. At least we got Bin Laden but I don't know why we didn't get out of there after that was done. I would've called it mission accomplished after that and brought everybody home. If there's anything history taught us is 'nation building' overseas is almost always a failed cause.

No, don't look at it that way. You kept any terrorist group from using Afghanistan as a training base and area from which to launch an attack against us here at home. We appreciate all you and the rest who served there did for us.
