There was an NFC playoff game between Brees and Brady where the two just traded airmailing 3rd and long passes for most of the second half. It was ugly.
Brees retired weeks later.
Brady magically got better. But he’s never done anything but “stretch”.

For me, I’ve become convinced that the Steelers, for reasons we will likely never have spelled out to us as fans, lost faith in KP. I believe they both no longer agreed with their own pre draft evaluation and something (s) happened that made them not believe in KP as a leader.
When a player gets traded, released or let go in a weird way, it seems like something went sideways somewhere that rubbed Tomlin, the team or management the wrong way. Legarrette Blount, AB, Harrison, Bell, Ingram, Pickett, etc…

That was already proven to be the style of offense and not cpnecessarily Ben’s arm strength. Of course his arms was a little weaker because of age. Wasn’t weak to the point that it affected his game. The lack of routes run and play designs are what limited that.

That and Claypool quitting on routes at the freaking goal-line. Thank God he had Muth, and DJ had not started running backwards yet.

Re: Kenny Pickett traded to Eagles.
It wasnt arm strength. I remember overthrown deep balls, Just seemed timing between the receivers and Ben was off. Haley wouldve been much better for Ben in those years, he wouldve cleaned up the routes, fixed the timing issue and helped Ben get the ball out quickly enough to avoid getting hit

I'm still waiting for someone to post a link to any evidence actually proving this.

That was part of it as well. But that's guys like Claypool quitting on routes and not playing to get open and trying to catch contested balls and all of that non-sense. There was a lack in the WR coach department too IMO. But then there is the fact that Ben has always overthrown receivers at times.

He said/They said. Choose who to believe. I'm willing to give KP the benefit of doubt here. A move like that makes no sense to me. AND, if he did do what they say he did, what does it matter now? He's moved on to the Eagles.

Try it again and see if it works this time.

Of course Kenny refutes it. What's he gonna say? "Yeah...I said it!" lol.
There were multiple writers with the story but wouldn't write it. THey've said that much...
Quote:
In an appearance on The Fan Morning Show today, The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly intimated the same thing.
“I’m very, very highly skeptical that it was 100 percent Mike Tomlin’s decision that Kenny Pickett did not dress yesterday,” Kaboly said.
Kaboly said if he knew without question that Pickett refused to back up Rudolph, it would’ve been “on The Athletic website right now.”
“There are some things you know and some things you can write, and there are some things you know you can’t write,” he said.

So your evidence that Kenny did it is (1) Paragon of Sportswriting Integrity Mark Madden (LOL), without evidence, claimed that he did it, and (2) Mark Kaboly thought that he might have done it but admitted he wasn't sure.
But hey, it's something bad about Kenny, so let's all act like those two things constitute ironclad proof that it's true. :der:

Re: Kenny Pickett traded to Eagles.
Did Tomlin ever say it wasn’t true? I don’t think he’d say it was true, but if he didn’t say it wasn’t true, I’d be inclined to think that it happened based on that, plus the fact he was moved on from so abruptly.

Like I posted earlier, KP says one thing, writers say another. No proof either way just have to decide which version you believe. I'm willing to give KP benefit of doubt if only because he made it all the way to being a 1st round pick. That rarely comes without some degree of willingness to sacrifice. I do think things were said/actions done that day that hurt KP with the locker-room. The coaches and players certainly backed Mason as the starter after that week. Whatever happened that day is probably a major factor in why KP is no longer with the team. Nothing is ever truly one-sided.

Right. I'm not asking what Pickett or reporters said. I'm asking if Tomlin ever addressed the question.

I don't know the answer to that. Sounds like one of those questions that we get those wonderful Tomlinisms from. That would probably be his response. Something that says nothing but everyone laughs and we move on.

Which would be a non-answer. I personally think he would have said it never happened if it didn’t. At least at the time. His silence would mean nothing at this point. But when it allegedly happened, I think Tomlin would have set the record straight. Maybe he did. I just don’t know.

Right. There’s not reason to say it never happened if it never happened. lol.

Your honor, I have positive proof that DesertSteel was involved in helping Tom Brady deflate those footballs. Brady never said he wasn't, so he must have done it. :willy:

It’s either bad attempt at humor really bad sarcasm. The fact no one but KP denied accusations of failure to dress speaks volumes. We may never know. I’m sure you’ll take Tomlins silence as poor leadership or his hatred of KP. Bottom line is he wasn’t dressed , never got starting job back and asked for trade. You give him zero accountability. Poor play, Canadas fault. MR played better, not sure who you’re blaming there. Asked for trade when real competition came, Tomlins fault he lied to KP and promised him the job. In the end it doesn’t matter if he refused to dress. He had lost his job to 3rd stringer, and management brought in competition. The professionals who saw him every day made those decisions and your boy wanted out. It’s shows his character, which is similar to refusing to dress when being demoted. Entitled comes to mind. But hey believe what you want. Dudes gone and Tomlin here for a bit. You’re in for long season.

I think we might be in for a long season as well. Imagine the delightful insights and pearls of wisdom we are in store for as the ups and downs of a full season unfold. It should be educational for almost all of us.
