A-freakin-MEN to that! I hope the Steelers FO was on the phone with him after the game last night.

Flozell isn't going to help our pass protection woes. I love the guy, but he has no pass blocking ability. There were times last year that he tried to compensate so much for speed rushes off the edge, DEs would just rush inside and get through with ease.
It's time for open tryouts
In Pouncey's defense he was making holes... Rashard was not running in them, he'd rather run up the blockers back and in to the waiting arms of the defenders. This and he was tap dancing again.
Thing is, we DID invest plenty in the offensive line. $24M for Starks, $29M million for Colon, $20M for Kemo ... we've put a ton of money into the line and just gotten very little to show for it. Though the end result is exactly the same: We needed to do a better job than that.
You're still right; I just think it's been a matter of making bad decisions and not getting our money's worth, rather than a lack of willingness to invest.
Also, Scott just needs to go NOW. I have no idea what that clown is still doing there. I don't care who they put in his place; even a CFL guy or an undrafted rookie could not possibly do any worse.
At the time, I remember thinking that it seemed pretty irrational - as if the FO thought that taking average players and paying them like stars means they'll somehow turn into stars. I guess we saw how that works in real life.
I honestly would welcome Starks back over Scott, not even a moment of hesitation on that one. Starks was definitely inconsistent, but that's better than being consistently bad. I do think we need to find another answer for beyond this season, though. Linemen with a history of injuries, especially neck and back injuries, tend to be linemen that you don't know whether they can hold up more than another season or two, and likely while missing half the games in both.
If you are speaking about the execution of the OL, I am in favor of it.
The O Line was putrid last night. However, the D Line was not much better. We got owned at the line of scrimmage last night. Something I hate to say but we are not going anywhere this year if we don't get these units fixed. Colts seem to run at will, while we could not gain 2 yards. Don't even talk about the pass rush. Freeney and Mathis might as well have been Ben's escorts last night. Putrid.
