I didnt get the deals specifics but I would guess its likely 2 years and either front loaded if there is guarantees or higher dollar backend with limited guarantees , meaning not any or much dead cap hit if he tales off ( he played pretty well last year still from memory)

Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Reading that Slay is NOT signed....but they are talking.
Jackson makes sense leaving regardless of the cash or the age or who replaces him. Jackson wants to play FACING the QB and multiple well sourced and on the record reports had both statements and tape analysis of how Jackson was not comfortable playing with this back to the QB. Unfortunately, that is exactly how the Steelers want their DBs to play. Especially their outside CBs. Jackson is a fine player but I don't think he was a good scheme fit.
Not really worried about him leaving.

Donte was always injured. Almost every other week I saw his name as questionable

Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Who the hell is Malik Harrison?
-
Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Steelers sign Ravens LB, Malik Harrison to a 2 year $10m contract.
Looks like Roberts won't be returning.
Per Steelers depot
Harrison had 1,558 special teams snaps in regular season play over 5 seasons with Ravens

They redid Cole Holcombs contract. Roberts should have been retained but he wasn't getting regular snaps in 2024.

he is long in the tooth , that said he is more reliable (healthy wise) than Donte Jackson and played every bit as good in 2024 ... for how long , anyone's guess

Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
I hope we draft Emmanwori. On the field he's probably my favorite 1st round prospect. I don't know anything about him off the field. As long as he's a work hard mentality and doesn't come in feeling he has nothing left to learn, I believe he can be the missing piece in our secondary.

How much are we paying Slay?

Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Steelers sign Eagles RB, Kenneth Gainwell to a 1 year deal.
-
Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
We are going to have the most stacked team without a QB in the history of the NFL.

I like him and not a bad signing at all. Draft another and they are set. Seems they are going with more speed and why they let Najeh go.

Maybe they can get Harrison back out of retirement to play QB.
-
Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Woohoo!!! I got Metcalf AND Gainwell off my wishlist. This offseason has been fun so far!
-
Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
I watched some Eagles games this year. Gainwell is a good hard runner but with Barkley there he wasn't needed.
Good signing, and the guy does have the perfect name for an NFL runningback.

Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Steelers sign Jets corner, Brandin Echols. Versatile corner, that can create INTs.
-
Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
I saw a headline but didn't read, said Jets released ARod. Earlier today I saw on ESPN he wouldn't be released until post June 1.
Maybe now things can get moving faster?
I also saw Russ is interviewing with the Browns. ??? These things write themselves.

So, did we or didn’t we sign Slay? I hate the internet

The Browns are going to sign Wilson and Mason Rudolph.

I think it's great Kenny might have to deal with ANOTHER team signing Wilson to play ahead of him.
So I guess that opens up the question: what did the Browns promise Kenny when they traded for him? Did they let him know that they might sign another QB so that his feelings wouldn't be hurt and he wouldn't demand a trade?

Fire Mike Tomlin.

Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Rudolph back on a 2 year deal.
Scotty Miller re-signed on a 1 year deal
Recently released 49ers all-pro full back Kyle Juszczyk is meeting with the Steelers today.
-
Re: Off Season signings (FA and other)
Goodness gracious.
Rudolph and Miller? Guess we are just wasting Rooney's money at this point. Might as well sign someone off here next.
