What's the scoop on this guy.
Okay. I like the player. I was hoping for Gaines or Exum for CB. But I like him and the value is right. It definitely confirms our commitment to playing zone coverage.
He has prototypical size and speed, and he can catch the ball now and then. Will need some coaching up... but that's acceptable since he wasn't going to be starting this year anyway.
will need work .... has size /speed we like
We finally take a corner and now all I hear is crickets.
He graded out as a 4th or 5th rounder. A ton of intangibles, good for playing zone, can get a good bump in at the LoS... but needs coaching.

Excellent consolation prize for McGill.
Who knows we might pick up Exum too...
Chidi not impressed

Let me put it this way. When we picked Archer I had to say, "not what I was expecting but, okay he's a playmaker I'll take it."
When we picked Shaq, I had to say, "Well he wasn't the CB I had in mind but actually... this is pretty good pick."
Intangibles in spades. If anyone can bring out his potential it's Carnell Lake, so we'll see.
Abbrederis, Exum, McCulers, Richardson still on the board.
From Coach Lake. ....https://twitter.com/willgravesap/sta...03754330251264
just realized Mauro still on board too ...could come into play as well if they double dip at DE
And so if this kid turns out to be special....when he makes a slash play it shall be called a Shaq attack. ( backing out of the room now)
Well if Lake recruited him - that would explain the pick.
Also based on his PRo Day #'s continues the theme of this class -- speed and quickness in a relatively large package.
Reports are Richardson transferred to Arizona, charges were dropped and he had no problems there. Hopefully, he makes the best of second chances. At least he didn't have to come to Pittsburgh and beg for a job.
McCarron to Bungles.
Bengals get mccarron. A game manager bought in to backup a game manager

Our next pick is coming up at 173.
Falcons Marquis Spruill

Saints Ronald Powell... not a bad pick here
How many picks do SF & SEA have?
SF came into the draft with a ton of picks. SEA traded down a bunch of times.
49ers get Keith Reaser
Miami selects Jordan Tripp
I'm not sure what we're doing these days. It seems like in the first/second rounds we go "BPA! BPA!" Then in the mid to late rounds we finally get around to addressing needs, which we try to fill with project players and wild reaches. I would think that's the opposite of how you're supposed to do it. Such a big deal is made about taking the BPA, but really I think in the first and second rounds, that's where you can be reasonably assured of getting a very good player at the position you need. Later rounds, you're not guaranteed of getting anything at all.
Personally, I would use the first and second rounds as the place where you address the short-term needs, and the later rounds to take the BPA, likely where you already have depth. I don't know if that's it, or it's just that I see our needs differently from the coaching staff.
We're at that point... Exum, McCullers, and Richardson, will all be available for our pick... again.
McCullers would be a nice pick here. I wouldn't mind Exum either.
