Folsom Naval Reservist is Sentenced After Pleading Guilty to Unauthorized Removal and Retention of Classified Materials
SACRAMENTO, CA—Bryan H. Nishimura, 50, of Folsom, pleaded guilty today to unauthorized removal and retention of classified materials, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Kendall J. Newman immediately sentenced Nishimura to two years of probation, a $7,500 fine, and forfeiture of personal media containing classified materials. Nishimura was further ordered to surrender any currently held security clearance and to never again seek such a clearance.
According to court documents, Nishimura was a Naval reservist deployed in Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008. In his role as a Regional Engineer for the U.S. military in Afghanistan, Nishimura had access to classified briefings and digital records that could only be retained and viewed on authorized government computers. Nishimura, however, caused the materials to be downloaded and stored on his personal, unclassified electronic devices and storage media. He carried such classified materials on his unauthorized media when he traveled off-base in Afghanistan and, ultimately, carried those materials back to the United States at the end of his deployment. In the United States, Nishimura continued to maintain the information on unclassified systems in unauthorized locations, and copied the materials onto at least one additional unauthorized and unclassified system.
Nishimura’s actions came to light in early 2012, when he admitted to Naval personnel that he had handled classified materials inappropriately. Nishimura later admitted that, following his statement to Naval personnel, he destroyed a large quantity of classified materials he had maintained in his home. Despite that, when the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched Nishimura’s home in May 2012, agents recovered numerous classified materials in digital and hard copy forms. The investigation did not reveal evidence that Nishimura intended to distribute classified information to unauthorized personnel.
This case was the product of an investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Jean M. Hobler prosecuted the case.

Double standard IS the standard.
Dead people don't care about any of this when they vote.
Nor do family pets!

After closely examining a number of potentially sensitive emails with help from State Department and Intelligence Community officials, the State Department's inspector general concluded that 12 emails contain "national security information classified at the Secret or Confidential levels." Additionally, it was determined none of the emails contained intelligence information, meaning it was classified for other reasons.
The emails in question, as the inspector general has previously stated, came from Secretary Powell's personal email account and personal email accounts of Secretary Rice's immediate staff.
Twelve Emails. As in one dozen. By two separate Secretaries of State. Over a period of EIGHT YEARS. As opposed to THOUSANDS of Clinton's Emails that fall into the same category over a period of FOUR YEARS.
Yep, two totally comparable situations! :coffee:
Hillary used NO OTHER EMAIL SERVER BUT HER OWN.
Common sense dictates that there was plenty of classified shit on it. As a matter of fact, it was all on that server. Because...ummm....IT'S THE ONLY ONE SHE USED.

Just came across this today. Hope this makes the ballot in my state of PA
I don't dislike Trump (not 100% sold on him either) but I absolutely despise Hillary so my decision will be easy come November.
All of a sudden demorats are concerned about morals and ethics.
Federal appeals court orders changes to Texas voter ID lawQuote:
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that Texas' strict voter ID law violates the Voting Rights Act and ordered changes before the November election.
The ruling from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals instructs a lower court to make changes that fix the "discriminatory effect" of the 2011 law, but to do so in a way that disrupts this year's election season as little as possible.
President Barack Obama's administration took the unusual step of deploying the weight of the U.S. Justice Department into the case when it challenged the law, which requires Texas residents to show one of seven forms of approved identification. The state and other supporters say the Texas law prevents fraud. Opponents say it discriminates by requiring forms of ID that are more difficult to obtain for low-income, African-American and Latino voters.
Strict? WTF is so "strict" about requiring an ID to vote? More like common sense. And exactly how the hell does one function in this society without at least one form of valid ID? Further, exactly what "barriers" exist for someone to obtain a FREE state ID?
This is truly ironic, as I'm starting a new job with the federal government this coming Monday and not only do I have to show up with a valid driver's license, I also have to show up with a valid birth certificate with a raised seal (not just a copy) to complete the I-9 form (I don't have a passport). What's more, my onboarding documents very clearly state that I WILL be sent home to get one or the other if I don't show up with both of them. SMH.
Yeah, and there's really nothing preventing ineligible voters from casting a ballot either, is there? :coffee:Quote:
"We are extremely pleased with this outcome. This law will no longer prevent eligible voters from casting a ballot this November," attorney Gerry Herbert, a member of the legal team that challenged the law, said following Wednesday's ruling.
I needed a drivers license to get a library card. :noidea:
Thankfully since it's Texas, they probably won't be able to rig that contest in favor of Hillary.
But still ... being required to prove who you are in order to cast a vote is not exactly a draconian or racist process. Aside from the fact that it's both cheap and easy, if you can't even be bothered to have an official ID of any kind - then either you are so far from having your shit together that I have no idea how you function effectively on a daily basis, or else you are probably hiding something.

"To love this song is to take into your heart the message and to actually, actually have a feeling to arrive and move forward, and not live your life in fear and imposing that fear on other people," Jenkins said before playing the song.

Living in fear? That's rich. Yet practically in the same breath, the guy turns around and equates buying into the Chicken-Little-sky-is-falling-anthropogenic-global-warming/climate-change/whatever-they're-calling-it-this-week narrative to "believing in science."
Irony, anyone?
ZOMG! SUBURBAN SUV-DRIVING SOCCER MOMS ARE KILLING THE PLANET!!!1!!11!!! :jerkit:
I heard when Cruz got up to the pulpit he did not give Trump the glowing endorsement he was hoping for.
Trump read Cruz's speech ahead of time and let him go ahead with it any way. The Donald tossed him the rope personally.....I don't know when these people are going learn that you can't "Out Trump" Donald Trump. Everything he does and says is calculated for a specific outcome. Trump knew exactly what was going to happen when Cruz read that speech. Love him or hate him, he has it down to a science.
Now it's Hillary's turn. He's going to be tossing out ropes right and left. Let's see if she's caught on to the game yet.

For what it is worth, I have been trying off and on for 4 years to get a State of Wisconsin ID card.... I turned in my CDL driving license (bus - etc.) before I left Hawaii - - I made the decision to not renew my Colorado license and to not get a Wisconsin license when both my vision and reaction time were deteriorating, and I didn't want to make my kids go through what I went through when taking my mom's license from her.... I carry a valid Military dependents ID card - - which Wisconsin does not recognize.... I have made 5 trips to the DMV with a certified birth certificate from PA, SS card and everything that they ask for - - relying on grandkids for my transportation and working around their schedules... Every time I have gone, they boot me out - - adding more and more items to their "approved" document list... My original documents are somewhere in my storage locker in Hawaii, and I am unable to go there to search for them, and my son and younger daughter have both gone in - - trying to find them, without success, and my repeated efforts to get certified copies of the things that I need to prove name changes, address changes (proof of residency is harder and harder in the 'no paper' world), and the $$$$ and time involved are frustrating for my poor old brain... And in a state where our illustrious governor sicced his gestapo on senior citizens who were singing patriotic songs on the steps of the capitol in Madison a couple of years ago, because he didn't want to answer their questions, leads me to believe that I am in one of those minority groups who might not vote the way the Koch brothers want his constituents to vote.... I am stil trying, but I now think that it is going to come down to having to sign an affidavit at the polls on election day (can't get that done for the primary next month) and dealing with the problems that might cause.... But I refuse to be voiceless in November.... Getting old is not for sissies...... I am hoping that Green Bay freezes solid this winter and I will prepare my own private iceberg to float away on during spring thaw.... Eskimos might have the right solution, after all....
