When has Tomlin NOT wanted veteran experienced QBs?
This list is kinda long:
Charlie Batch
Byron Leftwich
Mike Vick
Mason Rudolph
Mitchell Trubisky
It’s a move that EVERYONE knew was going to happen when you have only an inexperienced QB on the roster as your one and only…it was only a matter of who that QB was going to be.
The surprise came when Fields was available for cheap and he wanted to come to Pittsburgh…Philly couldn’t get a deal done for Fields, Pittsburgh could…the natural happened.
It’s all pretty black and white. The only one confused is Kenny…but he shouldn’t be because the word “competition” has been going on since the season ended.
On one hand you have the GM answering questions and telling you what happened with the Kenny Pickett trade. On the other hand you have people who are going to believe what they want to believe no matter what the GM says actually happened.
That sounds like the very definition of impasse. So rather than just keep repeating the same words over and over and over and over…
How do you guys think Kenny will fare in Philly? Hurts will most likely miss a game or 2 with injury. I think last season was his first dressing for every game. If Hurts goes out is it Kenny next man up? He only needs to beat Will Grier for QB2.

what I think they should’ve done this last season is just say Kenny is done for the year with a lingering injury and go with Rudolph. Then in the offseason just say they will figure out the Qb order in the offseason. That way they have their options open and no one is humiliated. I think they botched this. Maybe they don’t care, lol. But it doesn’t look good from the outside.

The steelers were 1-7 with Kenny as starter since 2022 when they gave up 20 points or more in a game....Their only win was against the Browns when the defense had 2 defensive TDQuote:

what we also know is KP8 showed very little and even in College it took him until his 5th year to look like he might be an NFL player but at that point in time he was a man among boys per say ... 18-19-20 year olds and he was 23 his ceiling was likely reached or close to it
or read all free agency grades from different sites and seeing all the positive marks the Steelers got with the Wilson and Queen signings. Nothing like reading “experts” analyses to make you feel better and maybe believe it was a good move after all and Kenny will end up being just an afterthought.Quote:
