I suck at Fantasy Football. I started Cassel over Schaub. Guess which QB put up 40 and which put up 12?
Oh, yeah. I started Marshawn Lynch too. Zero there. My other option at RB was Delone Carter, who netted 17. I'm losing 206 to 142, but if I'd started Carter (who I originally was going to start) and Schaub (which I second guessed myself out of), I'd only be down 206-186 with my Ed Reed against his Maurice Drew-Jones. I'd probably still lose, but at least I'd have a chance.
I'll like to thank everyone for making this a very competitive season. Our playoffs start this week, and here are the match-ups for the winners bracket.
#1 Team Duke vs #8 Killer B's
#2 Team Weis vs #7 Dick Lebeau's Wrecking Crew
#3 The Regulators vs #6 Nowfor7
#4 NCSteelers vs #5 Steel Devil
In the consolation bracket, 4 teams will fight for honor.
#9 Team Texas vs #10 Steel City Pride
#11 Team Suit vs #12 Team Webb
Good luck to everyone in the playoffs!!!
Hey, I'm actually ind of on a roll right now due to (can't believe this) Marshawn Lynch and Rex freaking Grossman!
I'm ready to do battle! :yay3:
Good luck to everyone! :drink:
My season was going well, four straight losses put me out of contention. Oh well, it was fun!!
Well no repeat for me. My team got hit by injuries late. Fred Jackson going down really hurt.
Oh well good luck to the rest of you guys in the playoffs!!
Good game HTG. I thought Eli was going to bring you back by scoring 50 FREAKING POINTS! That's just crazy!
I'm hoping we can cut our keepers back to like 2 or maybe 3 next year. I made a ton of moves and was able to at least maintain some kind of inconsistent competitiveness, but my team was really doomed from the start due to not being all that great LAST year and being stuck with 12 mediocre players. Since all the studs were pretty much taken, there wasn't much of a chance for me to improve.
I have to agree, the amount of keepers we have now is a bit much. Even taking into account that you must drop one of your two best players, it still doesnt give any of the mediocre teams a chance to buid up a decent team because after round 1, every other good player is gone. Most leagues Ive played in only keep 3 or so players, or if there is more keepers than that it is offset by a rule saying no first or second round picks can be keepers (too late for that I suppose, the league has already been established).
Its a fun league, I enjoy it, so whatever happens, happens...just thought I would agree with suit so maybe it could be considered during the offseason.
An example is my running back situation. In 2010, I drafted a couple decent RB's but lost them due to attrition and/or injury. So I was forced to pick up some scrubs stop-gaps, like Mike Tolbert, just serviceable guys who really are more like 3rd options. My QB was also Shaub, who is good, but with the emergence of Arian Foster, played less and less of a role.
Fast forward to 2011, and I'm loaded up with very average RB's, and by time I drafted at like #5 or #6 or whatever, all the decent backs that were left (not already kept on rosters) were already picked over (edit: I drafted Marshawn Lynch, and he's started producing for me, but it took almost all season to get there). So, although I'm very deep and solid at WR, my QB situation was shaky and my RB situation was a wreck. Even with a favorable scoring system for passing like we have, fantasy leagues are still RB driven. I was doomed from the start.
If we can reset a little next year, back it down to maybe 2 or 3 keepers at the most, it will give us bottom feeders a chance to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps. I also might recommend changing the draft order from random to bottom up (just like the NFL). If I only win 5-6 games this year, and end up drafting #12 AND I'm stuck with 12 of these losers, I'll finish just as badly or worse next year...
Im pretty sure the draft is bottom up.
I know some people say the amount of keepers we have is based on the amount of roster spots we have, but it should be based on the amount of "starting" roster spots we have. We start 12 players, if you take out the Def and kicker that leaves 10 marquee spots. So, essentially, the monster teams never have to drop any marquee players they have (besides one of the top two players, which are all scooped up in the first round anyway, so you are just trading talent for talent).
Again, Im not trying to stir the pot, its all just a game after all, just throwing out some suggestions to mull over.
I thought the draft was random....I could be wrong...
I'd be all for keeping 4-6 . I stated before keeping 10 or more has you selecting players to keep knowing full well you will drop them first chance you get. I think even the best teams had to do that.
