A seventh-round draft pick from BYU, the Diesel was a special teams star during his rookie season in 2002 and eventually took over the starting position at right defensive end. Keisel was inducted into his home state of Wyoming's Hall of Fame in 2007.

Arnold Harrison is the most recent #97 for the Steelers. An undrafted free agent from Georgia, Harrison was primarily a special teams player. He is currently a member of the Cleveland Browns.

#97 was also worn by Kendrell Bell and Ray Seals.

Jason Worilds currently wears #97 for the record.
