So Begins Browns Week
Always nice to start off a week with a victory. Even better if it's a victory over the Ravens. Up next is Thursday Night in Cleveland. Only person I ever knew to love Cleveland is Lebron James, and he's left them twice. I do not want to get too cocky and confident even after a statement win. Don't lose focus. Prepare as usual. Let's go 1-0 again this week!!
The Bengals must be on a bye next week. The Ravens head out to San Diego. Go Steelers! Go Chargers! Go Bye!

Technically, it would be 2-0 this week. But I agree that they shouldn’t look past them.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
What I saw the Ravens do with my amateur eyes was take away the deep ball, while still doing a decent job stopping the run. They were daring us to have an intermediate passing game, which we don't have at the moment. We need a number two receiver to step up as well as Muth to get more involved in the passing game.
I think the Browns "d" can do that as well. So, I am not under any delusion that this won't be a knock down drag out low scoring game. Good news is that we are the best ugly winners in the NFL. Just get a win on Thursday and work on improving the intermediate passing game and our red zone offense as we sharpen for the playoffs.

Gonna be another suckfest…
Browns win 38-6

Re: So Begins Browns Week
Keeping my streak alive ....
This feels like a trap game loss on a short week. 15-10 Browns.

I think Cleveland’s offense will have problems scoring so even if we’re not getting into the end zone as much as we should, we should be able to pull this one out. I don’t see us losing the turnover battle to Deshawn Watson.

The steelers won only won once in Cleveland since 2018 and they are 0-3 on the road in Cleveland on a thursday night...Need to end it!

Watson had a season ending injury several week ago...Jameis Winston is their QB

Watson was sacked by the massage parlor employees repeatedly.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
This season is different and this game is one that should be won and will. The Steelers score a TD in every quarter and it's over by the start of the 4th quarter. The B&G win it 28-13.

You beat me to it. Watson is at home getting his injuries "massaged".

Lol. Sorry, meant Winston. I was thinking of the right guy. Once led the league in interceptions.
He might be an upgrade given the way Watson was playing, but he’s no Joe Flacco. I don’t think the Browns do much scoring in this one so I like our chances in a low scoring game.
But who knows? We might even score some TDs in this one.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
I’m not sure Winston would appreciate that mix up…lol

Yeah, Jameis is only interested in crab legs, not massages. :chuckle:

Re: So Begins Browns Week
Were much better talent wise. So if Tomlin and the players take the browns seriously it won’t be close.

Never easy to play on a thursday night on the road(the steelers are 0-3 all-time in TNF in Cleveland).Winston is also a much better QB that Watson and he can be dangerous if he protects the ball enough

Your right, its in their stadium and on a short week after a brutal game against the Ravens. Will probably be close, still, we should be able to pull it off. Watt and co should be able to put pressure on him and make him make mistakes. We’re favored by 4, id take the points.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
7-8 of the 10 TNF games have been stinkers. Only the Falcons/Buccs and the Ravens/Bengals have been really competitive.
-
Re: So Begins Browns Week
If they jump out to an early lead then Tomlin needs to rotate some players in to give the starters a rest.

Yes, but I’m optimistic that protecting the ball will be difficult for him in this one. They’ll have a backup LT going against Herbig, and you can’t double everyone. He’ll be feeling the pressure from one side or the other all game. I’m hoping that gets him to make the kind of mistakes we know he’s capable of.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
Nick Chubb is who we gotta stop. He's gonna be running with a bit extra against us I think. We have to contain and tackle.

So far, he hasn't looked like the old Chubb since he returned from injury. He's averaging 3.1 YPC and doesn't have the same burst.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
Miles Garrett asking for apology from TJ watt. A shitty player on a shitty team in a shitty city asking for an apology from a player who is 10 times better than him? He got the DPOY because of shitty things outside of football and the optics of giving it to a shitty player like him was what got him the award. He should shut his shitty mouth and learn how to play football and learn some humility but of course that is impossible for his shitty mind to comprehend.

Re: So Begins Browns Week
Tomlin is 1-7 on the road on TNF and 0-3 against the Brownies on TNF.

Nick Chubb is not nearly what he was before the injury and neither is the offensive line of Cleveland. Having said that, he will run for 175 yards and 3 TDs.

Didn’t hear about the apology thing. What’s that all about?
