Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
Rumor also has it that the Steelers will be hosting the Chiefs on Christmas Day.
-
Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
The Pirates are at home for the first two Sundays of the NFL season, and the NFL tries not to schedule home games in a city where the baseball team is also at home, so the Steelers may have their first two games on the road, or have their second game at home on a Monday night.

On Netflix (rumor) on a Wednesday. Which means they would play the previous Saturday.
Yay for short weeks. Thanks NFL schedule makers!

Easy 2-7 down the stretch….
-
Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
That schedule is one whopping hell of a joke. While they're at it, why not make them play in London and Mexico during that 3 games in 10 days stretch late December?

Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
Schedule blows.
I hate how the NFL fucked up a perfect scheduling system when they went to the 17 game schedule.
I liked playing each team in each division in the NFC once every four years.
The NFL is going to just ruin this fucking game.

Good. They'll be ready for the playoffs.

Agree. And I'm sure an 18-game schedule is on the way.

Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
Falcons are currently favored by 3.

Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
Couple of thoughts: Only back to back home games twice and the last two are Chiefs and Bengals. Yikes
The NFL has been scheduling division games later in the year for a few years now. I like the idea generally. Usually at least one game ends up in the beginning of the year. Not this year. Four division games in a row and 6 out of the last 8. Have we ever played 4 division games in a row. We may have, maybe I just don't remember.
Nothing in the division will be decided in the division the first half of the season.

The Steelers don't play an AFC North opponent until Sunday, Nov. 17 in a Week 11 matchup against the Ravens. It's the latest that we have faced a divisional opponent for the first time since the 1970 merger.

Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
So if I follow correctly they play:
2 Sunday night games
1 Monday Night game
1 Thursday Night Game
1 Wednesday Night game (Christmas)
1 Saturday Game
Shows the draw of the Steelers. We haven't won a playoff game in ages and we still have 6 prime games.
Games I am most looking forward too. Of course, Ravens week twice a year is always something special.
The Cowboys on Sunday Night will feature one team that brags it's America's Team vs the team that is happy to be Pittsburgh's team but has as more creditability to the America's Team label than the pretenders.
Christmas vs Chiefs. We will be underdogs for sure. But, in regular season at least, Tomlin usually has his teams ready to go in primetime.
I don't buy into the revenge games with Atlanta and Denver. They are just Steelers' games to me, which id enough in and of its self.

Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
Those last 4 games are brutal
-
Re: Week 1 - Steelers @ Falcons
The 2nd half schedule is indeed brutal, but knowing the new offense(especially the o-line) will have time to gel by then is a positive.
The Christmas game sucks, Wednesday game, after playing the Ravens on Saturday, at least the Ravens is dealt with a similar hand as they also play on the same day vs the Texans.

We've got to be at least 6-2 and probably 7-1 before the bye to have any chance at the postseason.

How can this be? Don't they know we have Russell Wilson?
Oh wait, maybe they do.

Wonder what the opening line would have been if they had known we still had Kenny Pickett? :stirthepot:

They still do that plus one…I believe. This year is nfc east
When it goes to 18, they should play every team in the conference once and then add some. No need for divisions.

An even shorter preseason hasn't exactly improved the product on the field either.
