Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
sounds like Myles Jack is interested as well in reuniting with steelers

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Jack returning is basically the same as Sean Spence returning years ago. The guy is cooked. But desperate times....

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
I don't seem to remember Jack as being particularly good.

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
just say no please for the love of god! this late in the season hard to find any help maybe get someone off a PS, but at this point might as well pray for help

he wasnt .............. the knees are gone

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
He would go to practice squad if he re-signs. It seems they are going to promote Walker and Carpenter and Jack would be just in case and on the practice squad

yeah he hasnt taken a snap since last year , quit first week of training camp ( maybe first day this year ) definitely would not be close to football shape and his knees are gone ( that is a shame because he was a good player at one time )

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
He looked like he was finished. IIRC he was on borrowed time from the day he was drafted with that knee condition, and it finally ran out. An NFL player who's lost a step is no longer an NFL player.

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
rather have big daddy wilkinson playing LB
-
Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Rather just poach Barr from the Vikings PS if he’s still on there.
-
Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Can we just not sign veterans where we can all see the giant fork sticking out of them?
Just sign guys in their early 20’s until you find one that can play.
-
Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Assuming it will be to the practice squad.

I guess. He certainly should still "know" the defense. But we saw a healthy Myles Jack in this defense struggle. So they are signing someone they know is going to struggle. At least with "Bob the Totally Unknown FA LB" there is a chance he can play a little.

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
No way he'll be signed to active roster being out this long. I'd take him for practice squad as an Emergency Only.

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
I know I am repeating myself over and over again. But it is better than arguing about Canada and Pickett some more.
Look at what Trenton Thompson did on Sunday. Did anyone miss Neal? Honestly...it was ONE game against a comically limited QB....but I have to ask....why was this not tried before?
That's why you don't sign washed veterans for their "saavy". You sign guys with some juice left and coach them up to contribute.

I’m trying to stay positive but this organization’s insistence on winning now versus setting themselves up to win a bunch in the future is driving me to drink.

Thompson looked far superior to whatever the Steelers have trotted out there at the safety positions not named Fitzpatrick since the preseason. He was by far the best player in the back end.

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Sad. Just sad. Jack is done. He's stealing money from us. But hey, who's allowing it?

I wonder how long it will be this time until you're caught lying again?

Yeah. There is just an organizational/Tomlin bias towards "vets they feel they can trust" and I find it pointless and borderline useless.
Like was the BEST version of 2023 Keanu Neal really all that useful to your team?
I get the roll of the dice on Pat Pete. He is likely here to mentor Porter more than anything else. Same with Robinson at WR.
But....these other "saavy" but limited vets on their 3rd contract....just....why?

I like all the Inside LB signings. They were all pretty good. The Peterson signing to mentor JPJ, I am fine with. Most of the others…I’d like a do over.
It’s the “win now” mindset that this team has that’s the problem…

Yeah. When the roster needs as much help as it does or has recently, short term harm for long term gain has to be on the table.

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Welcome back, Myles Jack! Let’s play some football!

Re: steelers interested in Jack and more
Steelers sign Jack and Eric Rowe to the practice squad. Trenton Thompson signed to the 53 man roster, Elijah Riley to IR due to high ankle sprain.
