i wouldnt call him a whipping boy, i mean he's outperformed when you consider he went undrafted
Maulet has heart and energy. He's just not very good at what he does. Maulet is a glorified undersized Linebacker playing Nickel. Good against the run, but liable in coverage. He stuck around because he was good in run support, which we needed because Devin Bush couldn't do his job. Once Bush was shipped out, it made Maulet expendable.
He made his own bed wanting out of the burgh. Tomlin will cut better DBs this year than he is , so it’s not a big lose or gain for the ratbirds
