Which QB prospect will have the most success?
We have all been playing armchair GM this off season. Especially because practically ALL the top QB prospects are potentially available to the Steelers. So- time to “pick” or get off the pot.
Which QB do you think will have the most success in the NFL after 3 years?
Pickett
Corral
Willis
Ridder
Howell
Strong
(someone else)
I pick … CORRAL.
Post your pick and I will keep a running list of who (frequent posters) picked whom. After 3 years - some of us will get to gloat.

I predict it won't be Pickens. :wink02:

I’m taking Pickens. And I don’t even know who he is.

Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
So far -
Corral: ETL, Harbaughtissue
Pickens: DesertSteel
Howell: Dwinsgames
Someone else: 86Ward

Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
Should I say anything?
Nah.
-
Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
I'll take the contrarian pick - Kenny Pickett
-
Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
If the Steelers draft Pickett at 20, and then somehow manage to luck into Pickens at 52, that would be serendipity. Pickett to Pickens has a nice ring to it.
Then again, if Pickett isn't the guy and he becomes Pick6 instead......
Everything hinges on who goes to which team/scheme. If you try to make Willis or Ridder into pure pocket passers they will fail. If you try to put Strong in an RPO system he will fail. Hell, if you tell LJ to become a 'Brady' clone the Ravens wouldn't win half their games next season. If we only knew what a Matt Canada offense needed from the QB it would be so much easier.
All that said, I think the Saints will draft Matt Corral and that is who will see the most success over the next 3 years.
I wonder if Jordan Love will get moved this offseason.

Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
Corral: ETL, Harbaughtissue, Born2Steel
Pickens: DesertSteel, Fire Goodell
Howell: Dwinsgames
Someone else: 86Ward
(no one is picking Willis so far)

Whoever the Steeles draft...so Willis.

Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
Not worthy of it's own thread so just a piggy-back question in the same idea as the thread. List this year's draft class in order that you would draft them if you're the GM.
I think based on style of play and having quality players around them Corral, Howell, and Ridder are all very similar.
Willis and Pickett are the 2 more polarizing prospects that you either really like or really dislike.
Strong, Coan, Zappe, Thompson, and Glass are maybe not getting talked about enough on here.
Then there are the nationally over-looked guys in this class like Eleby, King, and Barriere that have great physical tools that need refining.(Jordan Love or Trey Lance type guys) And there are other names.
I am a believer also in scheme and personnel over talent alone. The right QB in the right system will be more successful than the most talented QB in the wrong system. I think the Saints are very high on Matt Corral. I think Pete Carmichael runs an offense that Corral can excel in. I think if this match happens it will be successful.

Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
I will wait till after the draft to make my prediction. some of these guys might not even start for 2 or 3 years depending on who picks them. some of them will be sabotaged by shitty teams and coaches.

I think I am getting at your question...but if not, just ignore!
Corral, Howell, and Ridder all have the chance to succeed in the NFL. And each would be best served by the same kind of answer. They get in some version of the Shannahan offense that is sweeping the league (about 1/3 or so of the teams are running some version of it) and I think they each can have success. Run some play action, some RPO, and basically be better versions of Jimmy G in Year 1-2 with each having the potential to develop into much better QBs in their right.
Of those three I would rank them as follows:
Corral
Ridder
Howell
Willis is a boom or bust that needs patience and a specific plan to develop. I actually rank him at the top.
Pickett I rank at the bottom of the class.
Strong is who I think in the right system -- say the Rams offense -- can be really good.

Exactly. And there is a quality to a new shiny QB that adds value over what is already in house. Especially when what is in house has been tried before and failed. I actually would not be totally shocked if Colbert does not take a QB on his way out and leaves that up to the new GM and staff. I would not be totally shocked if he does go QB to try to leave things better than when he got here too. I hope he has a better idea of what Canada has planned for the offense than we fans have.

Re: Which QB prospect will have the most success?
Whichever QB the Lions take will suck… even if he’s the “best” prospect. That’s not a joke. It’s echoing what others have already stated about the environment surrounding /the team that drafts these QBs.

gives me hope that Mitch was “sabotaged by shitty teams and coaches” and will do better here.
