Assume Colbert never had any intentions of retiring or walking away at any point during the 2022 NFL "year". Then Hunt and Khan taking interviews is just the usual couple of look-see's those guys get every so often. Colbert is still year-to-year and Khan/Hunt still have to weigh whether continuing in their current position(s) and waiting for Colbert to call it quits is "better" than aggressively pursuing other options.
For me, that is the way this all seems to make the most sense. Just ignore the Clayton report...

That’s exactly right. It’s not even a topic without that “report”. I would also think with all that is being discussed around GMs and coaches that if Colbert was leaving, this would also be part of the overall discussions amongst the talking heads.Quote:
