WTF is the status of the AFCN?
Last week the Ravens ended up in first place after not playing a down. Today, the Steelers are in 2nd place…without playing a down. I’ve seen some strange seasons but this one is taking on new dimensions. Two weeks ago the Bengals crushed Baltimore and leaped into first place and looked like a juggernaut. Today Cleveland takes them to the woodshed.
If Pittsburgh beats da Bears tomorrow, it’s going to get interesting!

If the Vikings could’ve capitalized on the Jackson INT, would’ve gotten REAL interesting!

Agreed. I was sweating bullets.

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
AFCN is a log jam between Ravens, Steelers and Browns in that order, probably not going to be sorted out till late in the season, Bengals are looking like pretenders

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
AFC North has been disregarded as a competitive division in recent years, but with this extra wildcard game, I have a feeling it'll be impossible to ignore at the end of this season. Gone are the days of easy W's and blowouts within the AFC North and sole domination from Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Take away brown and Andrews and ravens struggle.

Well, you could take away two starters from any offense and they’d likely struggle. But Brown and Andrews have been stepping up lately. Getting Boyle back at TE will be a big boost. He’s a helluva blocker.

I think your really good QBs find the guy whoever it is. Pittsburgh was super good at drafting WR talent or Ben could make guys better than they were.

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
The Lions and Vikings have both kept the Ravens just ahead of the Steelers (by blowing late-game leads).

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
AFCN, hell the NFL, all the “good” teams have serious flaws, so far the Rams and the Packers (with AR) are the top teams IMO, but after that (with all the QB injuries) it is a toss up at this point.

I have Andrews in fantasy and he’s mostly been a disappointment. Fortunately I didn’t need him to do much today because I have Chubb.

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
Cincy is a young team that bought into their own press clippings after beating the Ravens it seems. Dropping a game to the Jets was inexcusable, and well the Browns are no joke but they just dropped 2 in a row and things aren’t looking great for them

Forget them. Take away Tucker and they’re a sub .500 team.

I’m convinced the guy could make it from anywhere on the field...

And I spoke too soon, cause the Henry-less Titans just put a whoopin on the Rams. Are the Titans the top team in the AFC/NFL?

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
The whole AFC is a ClusterF. The last two years KC was head & shoulders above the rest but now they've fallen back down to reality. Right now the Titans look like the best team in the AFC after walking into the 7-1 Rams house and destroying them (without Derrick Henry no less). The teams that were supposed to be the cream of the crop in September (Chiefs & Bills) have been very average. The AFCN has been the same.
At this point the whole AFC might come down to whatever team is HOT around Christmas time. If I had to pick a winner (barring any other injures) I'd go with the Titans. They are a solid team on both sides of the ball and Derrick Henry could be coming back from injury right around the playoffs. Well we get to play the Titans at home on 12/19 so I guess we'll know then.
Plus the Titans have a cake walk schedule the last eight games playing the Texans twice, Dolphins and Jags:
Saints at home
Texans at home
at Patriots
Jags at home
at Steelers
49ers at home
Dolphins at home
at Texans

I love seeing teams that get overhyped after free agent pickups crash and burn

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
One of the Ravens, Steelers or Cinci will wake up and take charge eventually. For the Steelers it’ll depend on how much Ben has left - the division is there for the taking
-
Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
Right now I say who the hell knows? This division (and conference) is week to week. Did anyone truly pick the Jets over the Bills? It’s like no team wants to man up and take control, although it appears the Titans may be headed in that direction. Let’s see…this is up next:
Ravens vs Bears
Lions vs Browns
Bengals vs Raiders
Steelers vs Chargers
Would any of you be shocked if every AFCN team lost this Sunday? Sad to say, I would not.

Yeah when the Titans are the most consistent team, that's peculiar.

Yep. Seems like every time a team strings a few Ws together and starts being talked up as a SB favorite, they promptly get steamrolled by some sub-.500 also-ran. The Rams being the latest example.

Re: WTF is the status of the AFCN?
If the Titans get Henry back with a fresh (healed body) with 1-2 weeks left look out. They have a cake schedule the rest of the way.

Until they inexplicably drop one to someone like the Texans or Jaguars (more than likely in embarrassing fashion to boot), anyway. They already dropped a game against the Jets earlier this season.
It really all depends on who makes it into the postseason and gets hot in January.

The jets game is what really woke them up. They have been playing good since then.

I would be shocked if the Browns don’t kill the Lions.
