Steelers are 18th in points and 29th in yards.
At what point will Canada be held accountable?

I don’t give a crap if we’re at those stats after game one vs the team we played.
Now week 4 and the team is bottom 8 in the league, then sure… some concern.
Til then [emoji1742]

At what point are you going to be held accountable for starting idiotic threads like this one? Opening game, with all the new parts, in a hostile environment, and a game in which the Steelers won and didn’t turn the ball over.

Re: Steelers are 18th in points and 29th in yards.
It’s about time we started holding this OC accountable! This offense has been underperforming for far too long under his regime! If my math is correct he’s been the OC of the Steelers for an entire NFL game! And his offense only out scored the #1 scoring offense of the 2020 season by 10 points in one half of that game!
Blame Canada!

Further, a WIN against a team that is being hyped as a Super Bowl favorite and who the Steelers were given absolutely no chance to beat by any of the so-called "experts."
But yeah, PANIC!:panic:

Re: Steelers are 18th in points and 29th in yards.
Thus far, the Steelers had 54 yards in the first half of Canada’s coaching career… and 198 in the second half of his career. If this mathematical trend continues, I expect the Steelers to have 726 yards of offense in the first half of the Raidahs game (and 2,662 in the second half).
SUMMATION:
Stats :applaudit:

You can’t argue with the way it’s trending. Just don’t want to think about the day when the offense bubble bursts and the market crashes.

Sell high.
Rent (Rodgers) for a year.
Buy low.

Re: Steelers are 18th in points and 29th in yards.
Wow… this thread has a lot more legs than I’d have expected. Guess we’re all just a bunch of sarcastic dicks.
I can live with that.

This sounds like a Skip Bayless argument: "Sure Lebron had 39 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists but he didn't have any buckets in the last 3:47! Choke! It's not how many points you get but when!"
And anyways why take into consideration a brand new OL, new personnel, Ben's play etc. when the old tested tradition of blaming the OC exists? I just wanted to be first.

Not gloating. I took the L well since the Raiders have our number.
Trying to educate myself because I was told I am an idiot for defending Fichtner.
I was told that offensive performance was the responsibility of the OC?
And was Ben better from 2004-2013 when he never scored 400 points in a season; and worse now that he scores 400+ every single year?! I just am not smart enough to understand how 336 is more than 423.
-
Re: Steelers are 18th in points and 29th in yards.
I think that the point the OP was trying to make was sometimes you don't have to drive the car down the street to know its not worth buying. As for the accountability thing, not sure.

Maybe they think the scoring is like golf?

Maybe we were missing 4 key defensive players, who would have been key in stopping the Raiders. We had to rely on the Def in the first game, and will need to for the next few games. Our OL needs time to develop and couldn’t this off season due to many different issues. If you, or anyone expected them to be better than 3-3 after 6 games, they were fooling themselves. After game 6 I expect to see an improvement enough to make a division title run this season and an offense that compliments what the defense can do. My take on game 2 is we win that game with TJ and Hayden healthy.

Was only focused on offense.
I got flamed badly this past offseason for defending Fichtner and putting responsibility on Ben. Many posters have me muted. My argument was that the Steelers had their 2nd and 4th highest points totals during the Ben era with Fichtner as OC.
Now we see a new OC and even worse production. I think that is on the personnel also- but that's the point.
This year the narrative is that Ben is too old. Same narrative as last year when he had his 4th highest points total ever. Nothing I can see will change that. And nobody likes me. XD
