Week 13: For Whom to Root
For those of us who have time to watch other games, here are the teams for whom you should probably be rooting (because, these wins/losses will help the Steelers).
Browns @ Titans: Duh... GO TITANS!!!
Bengals @ Dolphins: I cannot wholeheaetedly root for the Bengals, but for playoff seeding... Go Bengals. I guess.
Colts @ Texans: Once again, for playoff seeding... Go Texans.
Da Raidahs @ Jets: Once again, for playoff seeding... Go Jets. Trevor Lawrence agrees.
Taperiots @ Bolts: Duh... GO BOLTS!!!
Broncos @ Chiefs: To ensure that the Steelers get the #1 seed, we need the Chiefs to lose... GO BRONCOS!!!
Bills @ Niners: Once again, for playoff seeding... GO NINERS!!!
Cowboys @ Ravens: Duh... GO COWBOYS!!!
Enjoy!!!

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
It's kind of great that the Ravens aren't even on the chart because they're irrelevant to our playoff seeding :chuckle:

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
Browns are abusing the Titans at the moment.

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
Yeah we ain't getting any help from Tennessee today

Honestly though if you had to see one in the playoffs , Titans? They could be a really tough out.

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
0-5 to start the day.
Maybe it’ll bounce back with 3-0 for the next three.
-
Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
The Steelers will have to keep winning unfortunately. The AFC is too competitive this year.

That would be better than 5-0 and then 0-3...

Indeed!!!

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
Well, the Broncos almost pulled off the upset
-
Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
So far were not doing so well...
-
Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
Well, the Chiefs proved they are an unstoppable force of nature by squeaking past the Broncos last night. The same performance by this Steelers team leads everyone in the known universe to say they will be lucky to win another game this year....:coffee:
Carry on.

The Chiefs won their last four games by a combined total of 15 points. Yet, it’ll be called gritty.
Don’t get me wrong: the Chiefs are the team to beat in the NFL. But, the slamming of the Steelers for “barely winning” is getting old.
Also, in the NFL thread, I had said how I didn’t “hate” the Chiefs/don’t mind that they will likely win a few Super Bowls over the next decade. Well, their fans might be changing my mind. They keep popping into Steelers discussions and adding nothing but derision. Yes, they won last year AND they have the best QB on the planet, but they’re getting a little bit cocky.

Yep, take away that freak bobbling catch from Hill in the EZ and they would have lost. It didn't seem like he knew the ball landed in his hands.

Hill didn’t know he caught it, because he could have had his eyes closed and the result would have been the same. It’s better to be lucky (reeeeally lucky) than good.
btw: Here is Collinsworth’s analysis of that play:
“Did you see the way that Mahomes purposefully threw the ball to the defender, knowing it would pop into the air and blindly land in Hill’s hands. Amazing!!! Mahomes is too good for this world... he is literally an angel and the rest of us are merely worms in his forces. Mmmmm, so warm in there.”

Yep and the other media darling, Russell Wilson, and the Sea chickens lost AT HOME to the Giants.

Poor old Collinsworth, he needs a new Brady to slobber over.

Indeed. Just let me know when the Chiefs continue to win despite having their schedule repeatedly screwed with by the NFL to appease opponents who can't/won't follow the damn Covid protocols. :coffee:
Bottom line: the Ravens should have either been FORCED to play on Thanksgiving with who they had left without Covid or forfeit the game. Especially after the Broncos were cut ZERO slack.
And please spare me the bullshit argument that "would you have preferred to play the Ravens on Thanksgiving only to have the Steelers get hit en masse with Covid?" because the Saints were forced to roll the same pair of dice by playing the QB-less Broncos.

I also wonder what the excuse will be this year when Mr. Discount Double Check falls short in the postseason (again). Wonder if the new HC in GB will get thrown under the bus.

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
Ravens to lose to Dallas then to beat Cleveland. Go Ravens.:ill:
-
Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
The Chiefs are always going to be a media favorite, as will Seattle, Green Bay, etc because it's a QB league. Any QB that has a knack for big highlight reel plays will be pumped by the media.
The Steelers don't get the same respect because Ben R is never a frontrunner in the MVP race like the above QB's.

I can call up defensed as well as Gregg Williams.
TEEGRE: Let’s only line up with 9 players on the field.
STEELERS FANS: Uh, wouldn’t you want to have at least 11 players...
TEEGRE: No... that’s just what they’d be expecting.

Re: Week 13: For Whom to Root
Hey it's actually hard to get em all wrong, congrats :chuckle:
